Little west of Baltimore (I’m typically in Raleigh but was worried about power outages with the brutal cold coming)

Now a heavy mix of sleet and freezing rain in Kernersville. The heavy band has arrived.
Our temperature here just north of Fayetteville (Linden) has dropped a degree in the last hour. I thought it was an error but confirmed via multiple sources. I think this line is going to be more of an issue here than people thought being we are at 26F.

I lived in PG County for 2.5 years. Was in the Snowmageddon Storm in 2010. Most fun I’ve ever had in the snow.
23/21 Now ZR mixing with the sleet about 50/50 west of Winston.

Seems like it’s about 80/20 ZR now just west of Statesville

My hand was shaking and dropped it a notch, but we are just under 0.5” with it still ZRing efficiently at 29 degrees. I got mby at 0.44” and counting

The sleet bomb has arrived and is impressive. It should definitely put us over the 2” mark. Looks like it will hang around all week.
well the thermometer says 29 but seems like an awful lot of melting/runoff from the roof at the moment. i'd call it a tenth of ice here

That happened here (Near Monroe, GA) when it came thru.. Thinking that when it "pulled down" upper air it pulled down the are that is warmer than the surface wedge air here...(rose from 25 to 34 )

Interested to see what the line does here. I'd say we've got somewhere in between 0.5-1" of sleet on the ground here so far (hard to measure), took an extended walk a few minutes ago and it was cool. All roads are covered. We also have a glaze of ZR, but I don't think it's more than 0.05" or 0.1" eyeballing it.
RDU is reporting 21 as of 5pm. My Apple Weather app says it's 30 which is insane. Where does it pull this BS from???
