This is such a beautiful picture.
27hrs gate to gate, about a 3hr drive up, 5 coming back, it took us 2hrs just to get to RIC. The closest one was 14” about 9 miles north and we were certainly in that pivot spot right south of Fredericksburg, just below knee deep in open fields. 8/10 for me, high moisture content, mature mid latitude conveyer belt and the damage were all contributing factors to grade. Kuchera not 10:1 or snow depth along with 500/700 maps using the EE rule nailed it down in the last 48hrs.

I'll be working on storm total maps later today. Waited on new CoCoRaHS data to come in this morning to help fill in the gaps and have been tired/busy with work and traveling. Will also take a while to comb through this thread and gather additional data I'll need. Was able to save mPING reports which were important in identifying trace amounts SE of the Triangle area down to the central coastal plain

Looks like the visible satellite imagery from this morning is delineating about where at least 2-2.5” or so fell yesterday

I did get some pretty good video at 9am, 12pm and 3pm yesterday. In the 12pm short around 1min mark you hear pops, atleast 5 in about 15 seconds, those were all limbs. Never heard and seen tree damage like this from a snowstorm in person. We woke up around 7am with 1-2 inches on the ground, by noon we had a foot and it stopped around 1, then the sun came out. Hopefully get to do at-least one more this season.

I ended up with about 4.5" of snow and a morning low of 7f.
That is almost verbatim what the UKMET forecasted for snow accumulation from this system. I will make a note of that for MBY next time.

This storm should also teach people that even with weeks of way above average temps and warm ground. Snow can and will stick if it falls hard enough.
What a cluster, that portion of 95 will not reopen until tomorrow mid day.
