Tropical Hurricane Isaias

You love to see that farther, more expansive precip shield than what most models show, the power of a interacting anomalous trough and a hurricane, just enjoying the rain, never fails @SD View attachment 45996
Just got under the steady rain shield. Solid steady rain falling now should keep going for another 6-8 hours no complaints

Good luck guys. When josh icyclone decides not to Intercept it’s kinda yawn. Sure we will see some isolated flooding and some decent gusts but I need a hawt cat 3 in my life right now.

HRRR continues to show center right up I-95, maybe 10 miles to my east, with that heavy left of track precip.....

To Downeast, I’ll eat crow and dry corn if we see gusts over 60, precip min looks on point, doubt a period on front and backside hurricane type as HRRR suggests.

The Weather Channel is just making crap up now.

I agree. Think heading more east would be higher winds but he’s the pro.

Josh is in the wrong spot. Inexplicably using a distant radar site that isn’t even picking up new northern eyewall and ne quad high winds. He’s gonna miss everything at his location.

I’m with you. Not sure what’s going on. The oak island / Holden beach area is going to get rocked.
Hurricane force winds about 500 feet above the surface

If we get the NE then E then SE side and only hit 60 mph I will be shocked....the recon was finding surface winds 60-80 pretty far out from the center and while that is over water we should be literally within 10-20 miles of the center if it holds the consensus track....seems if anyone is going to get 60+ it will be places on that side, hell frying Pan it tapping 100 in gust....thats pretty damn respectable given this thing was a heaping pile of poop this morning.....

Then again they may not mix down worth a squat and your right PGV only hits 60 but I am gonna go out on a limb ( long long limb) and say PGV hits 75-80 around 4-6am.....

Between Oak Island and Holden Beach has looked like ground zero all day, too.

Wow HRRR has really changed its tune for central NC from earlier today... now has good 60 mph gusts moving through along with massive amounts of rain banding
