Tropical Hurricane Ida

Reports from Air Force Reserve and NOAA hurricane hunter aircraft
indicate that the maximum sustained winds are near 150 mph (240
km/h) with higher gusts. Ida is an extremely dangerous category 4
hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Some
additional strengthening is forecast

I was expecting some kind of RI but not to near a cat 5. Seeing there's no ERC imminent or even near, the eye smoothing further and possibly shrinking, high winds just off the surface, and little stopping it, I see little stopping her to be 155 or 160 at landfall. Truly a scary situation for those who stayed behind.

HOLY ---- I’ve never seen deepening like this before I mean good god … this thing went absolutely beast mode overnight .. everyone was saying it won’t be as bad as Katrina cause it won’t have CAT 5 surge so much for that
