Misc General Banter Thread

My 2nd lowest snow total since I moved here in 2018 but record year
Geez. I can’t really complain too much since I still got 4” or so from the so-called Mauler, but I don’t know if I could keep posting if I only got an inch or two like you did. Getting 4” was bad enough. Record year, though! Pretty sure we got more IMBY in 2022 and last winter.

The historic ice storm was also kind of a dud, although I’ll take not losing power. Still, RDU only recorded 0.6” or IP, which is pathetic wondering all the hype.

I'll give this winter a C here... I'm still not really over the January storm only producing 8 inches given the hype and panic but it was still close to if not the biggest snowstorm I've seen in 5 years here and it hung around for over a week which was pretty historic. I've had two winters here where basically all we got was a glorified dusting so it could have been worse for sure and has been

The rest of the winter is totally forgettable ha... Not even just the temps which has been mentioned enough but like it barely has rained

Can’t find the fast food thread.
Had the “ Big Arch” burger today from McDonald’s!
Very big and very tasty!! Worth the price , IMO

Gotta say the times that didn't get out of the 30's for this winter were pretty efficient. First time was that monster CAD event where I was dry for the overrunning precip, and the second time was the day after the snow event (the day of it was in the 40's just after midnight and dove lower immediately, so it was kind of cheap that it didn't count).

I know most 1980s-1990s sports cards are worth very little due to massive production. Can anyone tell me what the average value per card is of unsealed random cards that aren’t in complete sets in most cases? I assume that only a very small % are relatively valuable rookie cards.

The card that is most the valuable in the junk wax era 87-94 is the 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr RC card that sells raw which means it's not graded professionally for between $75 to $150 depending on condition. Also the 1993 Topps Derek Jeter RC is the next highly sought after card in the junk wax era. Once you start getting 86 back to 80 the prices of common cards are still way less than a $1 apiece. For example. 1990 Donruss the most mass produced card set in the junk era. I sold (3000) cards and not in complete sets just (3000) 90 Donruss for $20 for all and they took a long time to sell. Kind of gives you a value of a common card from that era if it's not a Griffey RC it's not worth hardly anything right now. From 80-86 if you get Ricky Hendersons RC 1980 you are looking at between $50 to $150 depending on condition. The early 80s stuff like Wade Boggs RC. Ryan Sandberg RC. Tony Gwynn RC you have some value there. Barry Bonds RCs unless there graded a 10 your looking at between $5 to $10 if your lucky. Same thing with McGuire and Clemens and Canseco. What I do with the junk wax era cards if their not rookie cards I will sell them in bulk say (10,000) common cards with stars and hofs like 88 Topps 89 Topps 90 Donruss 91 Topps in that era for $50 bucks for the whole lot of (10,000) cards and it's still a tuff safe. Hope that info helps some buddy.

Also Don Mattingly's 1984 Topps RC card was the main card sought after card during the boom of the 1980s and early 90s sports cards. It was a very sought after card and was worth upwards of $100 in its time until injuries forced him to retire early and now you can get his RC depending on condition for between $10 to $30 raw ungraded.

Thought I would introduce myself because I've posting a bit more consistently here lately and it seems like this is the right thread for this. I live in Atlanta, in DeKalb county, and I love Mediterranean climates with mild, stormy winters and hot, dry summers (hence the username, Csa). Probably the only one on here that feels that way.

I've inconsistently lurked here a while but have just been given the banhammer for nothing more than simply holding an opposing political view to the tyrannical admin on a supposed "free speech" wx forum. Glad to be here in what seems like a much more welcoming, and actually weather oriented, forum than that foresaken place with its scummy ayatollah ruling with an iron fist.

DMs are open if y'all wanna get to know me more.

Since I kinda failed to do the full Rainbow Falls hike in Gorges State Park, I've dreamed off and on of the idea of going back.

For now at least, I'm going to try to do it again in a few months, this time without a parent and with a fellow companion (the parent can't go for long hikes because of my mom's disability).

Tonight’s 0Z runs will be the last runs to be released during standard time. Starting with tomorrow’s 6Z runs, they’ll be released an hour later on the clock due to the switch to DST at 2AM. That won’t change back til early Nov assuming no changes in the law before then. 🙁
