Same. It seems like it stays pretty much the same for north central GA as far as freezing rain is concerned but everyone in NC is upset because their snow totals disappeared. Let's see what the flight data gives us the next couple of days before we decide nothing but rain will happen.

The same features that showed up on the 5h, can still change. It doesn’t take much to change things further east. Now, does that normally happen… Hell no! 99.9% of the time it goes against us. But, this could be the one. I’ve only been waiting for 25 years for my 12” snow. 20 of those years on the weather boards. Lol!

Still 90ish hours before the storm. Thats still a good amount of time. Get bad trends in now rather than 24 hours before the storm. If the current trend continues up til the storm we would all be rain but thats unlikely and we might just end up freezing rain but I feel like it will trend in our favor again before it trend ls bad again.

Either that or the people calling this an historic NC storm will be looking silly.
I can promise you with 1.5 to 2.0 qpf and temps at the surface in the low to mid 20s. It will be historic, unfortunately dec 2002 style perhaps or maybe just 5 to 6 inches of sleet. But its gotta wash out alot more than what the euro just spit out,to call it a day in the park nothinburger this side of the state.

But will the temps be in the 20's?

im sorry for my southern boys but I want this to trend as far north as possible so we get no freezing rain down here cause what a lost of people don't understand is that the more south it is the more places like Mobile,Dothan and Albany are at play and I don't want that so I'm sorry to say that I'm rooting for the north not the south...

Have been following these forums off and on for a number of years, and more so recently. Never posted, but am this evening because I am highly discouraged. Basically live in Augusta, but just over border in SC. I am 32 years old, and never in my entire life seen something like 6 inches of snow (only once). Augusta will just never be the place. The only impactful storm in my life (aside from Helene) was the 2014 catastrophic ice storm. Other than that...notta. What will it take to get the big one here near Augusta? It's exhausting. But it's the weather. Looking for some kinda hope tonight! Y'all have a good evening!

I could be wrong but is it normal to do all these recon flights for winter storms? It’s almost like our models suck and are not getting any updates and this is what we are resorting to.

Gotta make sure China isn't sneaking any balloons in these lows and trying to manipulate the weather.

I was in Aiken for the I20 special on 2/12/10. Fat flakes start to finish. Best snow I have ever witnessed. 8.5 inches I think.

Move to east to Florence SC or the NC coastal plains, or move to Landrum SC and the foothills upstate if you want snow. The midlands of SC/GA are terrible for winter weather. Too far inland for the coastal stuff that develops.
