Misc General Banter Thread

Had to check myself into the ER last night. I was suffering from some nasty heart palpitations and felt like I was about to have a heart attack.

Luckily, everything came back negative and i got released earlier this morning, but I have to see a cardiologist to figure out what the underlying issue may be. I suspect it may be that my body is rejecting the pain medication I was taking for a root canal I had done last week but who knows.

Just feel very blessed to be here right now and get to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with some of my friends and family 🙏

Sorry to hear that Webb, hope you feel better. In my experience, everything being checked out ok, sometimes stress and anxiety can cause heavy heart palpitations that are quite disconcerting. Check it out with the cardiologist, take it easy, and enjoy the down time!

way better than the long range clown maps, too. have to put some thought into it, but there's so much valuable insight to get in seconds.

I hadn't taken any caffeine actually! I rarely drink coffee or caffeinated sodas though I like to have one every once in a while. It's probably been at least 2 months since I had one.

I suspect it may have been the over the counter Motrin and/or Tylenol I was taking for the last 6 days plus some anxiety. I may have an underlying condition and this pushed it over the edge, been several years since I had a physical or blood work taken til last night of course. They'll likely have to put a heart monitor on me when I go to the cardiologist :/

As someone who is of similar age, this scares me a little. I haven't had a regular dentist since my old one that me and my parents went to passed away.

I had a couple appts in late 2019/early 2020 and was told I had a few cavities by a dentist at the dental college after I was told something crazy at the old place, then the shutdown pushed things off and my "I'm a big ole chicken" deal delayed and delayed for years.

Finally gave up and told my dad to make me a new patient appt at the new place they're going to. I'm not overly scared about talking on the phone anymore I think...but this stuff scares me so I'm not going to call them.

Talk of a cold December and winter is finally here or the rumors of snow and yet today was only our third day this month with a high below 50 🤣🤣 which the average is already 57

Probably still near hottest November on record with 4 days left

If December is cold at all it's gonna be a massive pattern change

Sorry to hear that Webb...hopefully nothing serious. I went through the same ordeal last year and they found nothing. Cardiologist monitored during stress test on the treadmill and declared nothing wrong. But it was scary for sure

Hey Eric,
Hopefully it isn’t a sign of heart disease. Although it obviously must be checked thoroughly as you’re doing, the good news is that heart palpitations are fortunately often benign. I first noticed them in my teens and I was quite worried because they feel so unusual (flutter feeling). Back then there was no internet and so I thought I was having something very rare. But they determined mine to be benign because I have no chest pain, shortness of breath, etc. And now I have the internet to learn more about this and that’s is very common/usually benign. So, I no longer get overall worried about them although I never like the feeling.
