Historical ice storm trying to get going.

Fail Falling Down GIF by RETROFUNK

Trying to sort through the forum and model noise, definitely is drier right now, but I feel that it is unlikely it stays this dry through the whole storm…the HRRR continual adjustments to much drier as it updates seems eyebrow raising, but curious to hear balanced (not the sky is falling) thoughts on how it progresses moisture wise.

NEXT……. Jimmy be lucky to get .25 of accrual!
Next weekend is looking $$$$$$$$
Table-setter currently ongoing…

Yeah I’m just ready for next weekend lol. Although I’d bet it’ll be drier. Been super dry this winter and not sure when that’ll end

If that wedge is stronger than modeled it may just choke off some moisture which would cut into ice totals

That CAD gonna eat away at that Precip. If rates are light it's gonna have a hard time making it to the surface

But as strong as this CAD is if Rates are Lighter, It's just gonna eat away at it

They picking up on the CAD being so Strong that the CAD is Eating away at the moisture

I think they underestimated the strength of the CAD

At this rate I would be surprised if upstate sees over .25" of ice. It's gonna have to prove it to me With the CAD as strong as it is.

Good evening! I was wondering about your take about the strength of the CAD? What effect do you think it will have on QPF totals? Thanks in advance.

Think of the great winter storms we had in the past, where the storm was along the gulf. Moisture blossomed all over Alabama and Georgia and moved NE and just looking at radar you knew it was coming and it would precipitate for hours. This ain’t it. Something different, and the storm is going to our west. Maybe the lift causes more precip later but I’m feeling pretty decent about not losing power in mby.

I’m at Wegmans tonight and they actually have bread!!!! 😮 You just have to go during the storm, I guess!
I ran by Costco this evening around 6 and they had bread AND it was a ghost town.

A festivus miracle.

Chances of zr filling in more towards Augusta throughout the evening? We're right on the southern edge of expected ZR between .10 and .25. Everything seems to be missing us to the north, but there does seem to be some rain from the coast throwing moisture back our way. Thoughts?

FOX 5 showed the main line tomorrow moving in with temps freezing even in ATL. whoa!
You mentioned FOX 5. I just miss the days of Ken Cook from fox 5 and Glenn Burns at wsb. There is no one currently at any of the atl stations that can compare to those two.
