On the back side 10:1 looks doable. The first half of the storm with the waa stuff may be less

its a Kuchera method graphic... the 10:1 was 9.4 for RDU airport
I’m absolutely torn between how much sticks to the ground vs. how much falls. Any thoughts?

You sure about that? Kuchera from the 3K showed only 3.6 at GSO on my map from PW.

All of this in regards to soil temperature. I’ve been going back and forth between solutions closer to the models and half of what they have. I’m wondering what are you leaning towards? Snow accumulating quickly or it taking awhile and it cutting deeply into our totals and some reasoning for your thoughts.

Thanks. That's interesting that there would be a 3" difference between two sites. I'll go with yours instead!
Silly question, but was the time stamp the same? Other than that, unless it was a ratio difference or kuchera vs regular, hard to see how it could be so different.
Man its a tough one. Snowing in the daylight, near freezing, warm ground hou have to think there is a little loss due to melting

There seem to be more returns over Texas and Kansas already than models predicted... Could that be good for TN/ N AL?

Kuchera is generally too low even though it’s suppose to be made for ratios or mixing issues. It’s still generally too low and 10:1 too high

Soil temps don't matter a lick with good rates. I can't tell you how many times that I've had it be 65 degrees the day before and then the next day it snows at 34 degrees. If the rates are good it will all stick fast.

Updated RAH discussion is somewhat encouraging and sounds as if there may be the possibility of a WSW (reading between the lines though). But please note that the writer does mention soil and sun angle!
