Pattern February 11-13 2025

No right outside my house, but this picture was taken 3 miles above my house. I’ve seen this exact scenario

several times over the years. I got a warm bubble right around my house lol

Warning ice in Sparta to zero in most of Wilkes&Surry. Actually over 0.25” in and around Sparta.

Getting trained on here in NW Atlanta.

We are gonna need a bigger boat. Massive slug of moisture inbound.

Yeah this is gonna put down some numbers over the next couple hours IMG_3071.png

Looks like the highest snow total from yesterday was in Alleghany County Virginia at 16.5 inches per a poster in the MA thread at the other site.

Near afton ridge/george W liles and poplar tent intersection, just a little bit of drizzle now
Yeah that’s N of me a bit. ATP I’ll take a sleet storm. Running out of winter and then there’s that sun angle. Oh well. At least most of us have seen some white falling this year.

Saw some.75 ice accrual in mtns, hopefully thats stopped. Problem now is the flash flooding thats coming. Spigot is primed for all of us and doing the dirty, esp SW NC

"As a crow flies", I'm about 15 miles NE of RDU. I'm sitting at 37. I think RDU is the location that sucks...
Probably so. I don’t have a thermometer here but I’m about the same distance WNW of the airport and Burlington, NC is reporting 36 which isn’t that far away.

Down here in Atlanta, no threat of winter weather - but I am mildly interested to see just how strong this wedge will be tomorrow/wednesday. Both the HRRR and 3K NAM have Atlanta in the 40-45 degree range both tomorrow and Wednesday.

Currently NWS high on Wednesday is 63! So this would be a pretty impressive 20-25 degree bust for a day 2 forecast

This ended up happening. Wedge held all day and Atlanta never made it out of the low 40’s. Impressive

Make it make sense. Had a winter weather advisory with above freezing temps. All rain. Now 32 with ice forming and not a word. 1,100 homes out of power on blue ridge energy in Wilkes. Less than 100 out on Duke. Usually get a statement or something if Ice is forming or coming down

Still sitting at 34 degrees and getting ready to cross the 40 straight hour mark of rain. And its been Heavy Rain this morning. Should be finally quitting here soon. Ive never sat through 40plus straight hours of rain with temps between 32.5-34. Ive titled this the 2025 storm of Misery. CAD wasn't deep. But it never budged either. Despite 45 degree temps plus right above our heads, it never flinched!
