The system was moving NW to SE all morning and now it looks like on radar it’s moving SW to NE here in Uptown Charlotte.

This second round of snow is like a dessert after a good meal. In my case, make it banana pudding or pecan pie please. It should push out of here in about a hour and a half according to radar.

Seems like it may be lightening up now and it’s getting brighter out while melting on the streets continued. Pretty mehish rates from that band, think I was too far south. There’s another band coming which has better returns further south, so maybe that one will deliver a little more. Didn’t expect anything from these, anyways.

Snow capital of the South.
The tennis court near me has fallen. Even with cloudy skies and light snow the sun takes no prisoners. At least we’ll hopefully maintain full grass cover, which definitely wouldn’t have happened if the sun was out.

I would think it would be ok, because the sun does a number on the dry snow and "Evaporates" quick! But it's a different world once you get to 3000'

I agree with you 100%. That’s how I differentiate a good snow from just meh. Cover the roads and I’m usually pretty satisfied. But lately I’m lucky to get the mulch covered haha

There's 0 snow cover in the mountains until you get to the Western slopes
The mountians were warm at the surface yesterday. blocked from the surface cold coming from the West and didn't get in on the wedging that was centered in Eastern NC

yeah i just had 20 minutes of biiiig flakes coming down hard from that band which has now scooted over towards raleigh. looks like i should have one more moderately heavy band hitting soon then wrapping up by 1
There’s actually some snow coming out of trees with the sun trying to peek out. But looks like we’re gonna get slammed again in 15min

The sky is lighter than yesterday. You can tell that the sun is fighting to break through the clouds even though it is still snowing.
Back to light snow with big flakes. Doubt we’ve gotten any accumulations from this snow today but nice to see.

I was thinking the same. This is about as heavy as we had yesterday but incomparably beautiful to watch.

Son just asked me if the snow was about to stop (got lighter). I told him round two was about to start. Looks like I'll end up with an additional inch.
I am so glad I ventured up to your neck of the woods. This is just spectacular on the MST

Steady light snow now. A nice bonus on top of our sleet storm from yesterday.

i think our area was the triangle jackpot for this ULL -- northern wake and NE Durham. my flakes are the size of quarters right now and the rate just picked up again intensely
