The system was moving NW to SE all morning and now it looks like on radar it’s moving SW to NE here in Uptown Charlotte.
I would think it would be ok, because the sun does a number on the dry snow and "Evaporates" quick! But it's a different world once you get to 3000'For the mountain folk, what can I expect on the drive from Greenville up to Avery Co between 12:00 and 3:00?
Looks like Buckethead has over 6” on the board on the state line up above Mars Hill so maybe my 5-8 call wasn’t as atrocious as I thought it would be along the border
@BIG FROSTY ?
I agree with you 100%. That’s how I differentiate a good snow from just meh. Cover the roads and I’m usually pretty satisfied. But lately I’m lucky to get the mulch covered hahaThis is why I am a sun angle enthusiast. We had a decent bit of melting on the roads overnight even. Wish more of the snow fell in the overnight hours so we’d have had more on the roads in the first place. Not sure why I care about road stickage, I guess it’s just a nostalgic holdover from my school days, hah.
This band coming through Raleigh right now is the most enchanting snowglobe scene I’ve ever seen
yeah i just had 20 minutes of biiiig flakes coming down hard from that band which has now scooted over towards raleigh. looks like i should have one more moderately heavy band hitting soon then wrapping up by 1It’s snowing chicken feathers in Wake county per WRAL live shots

I am so glad I ventured up to your neck of the woods. This is just spectacular on the MSTSon just asked me if the snow was about to stop (got lighter). I told him round two was about to start. Looks like I'll end up with an additional inch.
i think our area was the triangle jackpot for this ULL -- northern wake and NE Durham. my flakes are the size of quarters right now and the rate just picked up again intenselySon just asked me if the snow was about to stop (got lighter).
