To add insult to injury, the 2010s will mark the first decade since the 1880s where Raleigh did not see a single winter w/ at least 10" of snow. #wesuck
When u look also at Charlotte, 2 of the 3 decades on record where 10" of snow wasn't observed in at least one winter have also been 2 of the 3 most recent decades (1990s & 2010s). Furthermore, there have only been 2 winters since 1990 (1990-2019) (2002-03 & 2003-04) where 10"+ of snow was seen in a single season. Over the previous 30 winters (1960-1989), 11 were observed.

It all depends on where you are located in Middle Tennessee. As far as the city of Nashville itself it can be a lot less snowy then say If you live on the Cumberland plateau or the highland rim. Living in these areas of Middle Tennessee is more like being closer to Louisville then Nashville. I’ve had as much as almost 3 inches of snow and drove down south to Hendersonville tennessee which is only 20 minutes away and they literally had only a dusting.During the big January 2016 snow I believe HendersonVille and Nashville had around 7-8 inches while here in White House and other places on the highland rim got 10-12 inches. How’s TN snow. My assumption is that you all see small clippers a chunk of the time, but rarely get big storms.
From my crude stats Raleigh went 10 years from 1902 to 1912 in between 10"+ seasons, a couple of other times they went 7 years (1950's and 1990's) and currently we are on year 16 and counting.

If you account for the movement of observing stations from near central Wake before the late 40s to RDU in the NW part of the county, 1904-05 would very likely qualify as a 10"+ winter, lowering the record streak to 7 years. We've basically doubled the previous record streak...

To pour salt on your wounds, Fayetteville, NC has seen at least 3 10"+ winters (2003-04, 2010-11, & 2013-14) over the same time span & I had the pleasure to live thru all of those. I guess I never realized how good I had it there.

We only picked up about 4” here, definitely would consider that a good event by Fayetteville’s standardsWhat did Fayetteville, NC get out of the system in Feb 12th, 2010?

Some of it is bad luck, Raleigh has been close the past 15 years or and just missed out. Didn't realize FAY has had such big winters recently...that's always nice.
So this just shows how bad Wake County has sucked lately, no joke.... there has literally been more snow west, north, east and south of them. Wow!Yeah, Fayetteville has had a string of pretty good luck in much of the 2010s. We ended up scoring an extra 5" w/ the early Jan 2011 while Raleigh got jipped. Fayetteville also picked up an additional 3-4" in 2013-14 right before the big dog on Feb 12-13 in a storm that was supposed to produce a few scattered flurries to a light coating at best (oops). Then, we saw just as much snow as Raleigh in the Feb 12-13th storm which was also not supposed to drop more than about a coating to an inch. It was definitely nice to see 8" of snow on the ground again.

Man you're doing a lot of research just to see how bad you suck... Lol jkYeah no kidding. The same could be said however for Fayetteville regarding 1+ foot events, we haven't seen one since Dec 1958 (before my grandparents moved here), literally everyone north, south, east, & west of us has seen at least one of these in that same time span.
*grumbles*.

Might as well log off and check back in 3rd week of December and hope for the best. Punting most of December before it starts seems to be the theme lately. Shocking I know!Even though I know much disappointment normally comes with it for my area, I’m so ready to get wild chasing a winter storm again.
Yeh seems like everyone is real spoiled off what has occurred in December the last two years. People forget that’s not normal at all in the SE. January and especially February for us in SC are your normal months for Winter weather. I think it’s easy to forget because late Jan and the entire month of Feb have not delivered at all the last few years. And those are the traditional times to get board wide winter storms. Hopefully everyone gets some action this year, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m especially pulling for areas from S of ATL, Middle GA to Augusta through the Midlands. These areas have been missed badly the last several years. Nearing 6 years in spots since anything significant. And when I say significant, I mean just a inch of snow. lolMight as well log off and check back in 3rd week of December and hope for the best. Learned a lot off that storm. Personal record for the amount of hours in a row I’ve stayed up. LolI just simply ask for a feb 2014 repeat, please, that winter storm was perfection even with ice
I wish I had thought of itLol tbh at first I thought you were running that twitter account
