Don’t get sling, it blows
Nah I'm sticking with DirecTV as long as they continue to give me price breaks on my service to stay. I tried streaming before and it wasn't bad until I had an internet outage

I pay $20/month to watch three movies a week at any AMC. Beats cable tv and way cheaper. Family plans will be rolled out next year. Plus live sports on Sunday’s.

Anyone else excited for the new Breaking Bad movie on Netflix?

Are you going to another paid app? You could just use all free stuff... I may someday.
I honestly don't know the entire scope of the universe of providers. I have a trial with Sling now, which seems fine to me, although sports are a bit choppy (I don't know if that's because of my VCR or not...haha...It might be an issue with using a Firestick instead of a Fire Cube or AppleTV or something like that with a faster processor). I also have Netflix, Prime, and an HD antenna. I don't need a ton of stuff, but maybe YouTube TV is a better option than Sling?

They have movies in Wilkes?

I had direct for like 15 years, they were ok , I got tired of seeing 19.99 introductory prices for new customers, while I was paying 100$, they never worked with me! Also, Back when it used to snow, and rain, the service interruptions were bad!

I'll probably use this tactic, I want to break away from satellite but in my location not sure internet fast enough. Plus seems too confusing and by the time you get sling, hulu, Netflix, fire stick, cube, or whatever it's just as expensive

I did like You Tube TV, I just got a good deal to get the Spectrum TV app (with all the channels). I am still watching for better deals, and if/when a better deal appears I'll go with it. In this new age, you got to keep shopping.

Disney includes Hulu and espn. That’s when I’ll prob drop the rest. Or course, if they give free Apple TV subscription if you buy an iPhone I would use it too.

This model is obviously going to be wrong! Look at the convection over me! View attachment 23402

The fact that this one is even a possibility is ridiculous. Good grief:

If it were up to me only and it does actually happen, I would immediately dump DirecTV. At least it's not the best college football weekend but this is ridiculous. Might have to free trial YouTube TV.

I cut the cord in June 2018. ✂? Got Centurylink now. 25mbps soon turning to 1gbps. Thank god I'm moving.

I'm getting rid of my Spectrum cable service at the end of the month and going with YouTube TV. It'll save me $50 a month. I like that YouTube TV has live TV and an unlimited DVR, and you can still watch shows on demand, too. I also use Netflix.

The only bad thing I see now with the streaming services is that the studios are going with their own streaming service now instead of just having stuff on Netflix or Hulu. If you want to see the Disney shows or movies now, including Marvel, you're going to have to get their streaming service. It's going to get to the point where all those streaming services will cost more than cable.

I worry all these streaming services are eventually going to oversaturate the streaming tv/movie market. Choice is great, but sometimes too much choice can be a negative than a positive. Speaking on Disney, they royally screwed Netflix after announcing Disney+. If Netflix wasn't investing so much money into original programming/movies, Disney+ would probably be the death nail for them. Ironically Hulu will benefit from Disney+ because they get access to some of the Disney/Marvel properties. Of course they would since Disney owns about or more than half of Hulu's shares. I have Hulu, Netflix, and Prime Video (bundled with Amazon Prime membership), that's good enough for me now.

I recently got cable added/bundled to my internet service a couple weeks ago because I'm an idiot. lol Seriously tho, I only did it to have it as a Plan B when like you said if there's an internet outage I can still have something to watch. Plus my 3yr promotion on my internet plan was ending soon anyway so what I would have been paying once the promotional price ended I might as well had gotten cable bundled with it. It would have been about the same price. *sighs* I'm still annoyed Comcast/Xfinity has a dictatorship in my area, it seems like the eastside of Atlanta has more choice in cable/internet providers. On the westside of town where I am it's Xfinity or nobody.
