If December rolls around and we're still dealing with record warmth, half of this board may have a conniption

October is usually my favorite month of the year in terms of weather. Highs in the 60s and 70s. Lows in the 40s and 50s. Sunny skies. Low dewpoints. I hope October doesnt disappoint this year.

I want a cool Thanksgiving, a cold Christmas- New Years and 2-4 snow storms and 2-3 ice storms from January- March. Damn not asking for much.

I received a jury summons today..I realize it is my civil duty but come on I have other actual responsibilities to tend to. @pcbjr how do I get out of it? I have a 2 year old whom I’m responsible for getting to and from the babysitter EVERY weekday morning. I am also an Insulin dependent juvenile diabetic. Help me out here..

Tell them you think everyone is guilty until proven innocent !

My experience says that its not hard to get out of it legally. You might be able to get a medical waiver (my mom has gotten medical waivers ever since she became disabled), but if not, just go for your one morning and either tell the judge something that isn't unreasonable that will get you out of it (I can't be fair and impartial will usually do the trick, and there's some other things that will do the trick without problem that I've seen when I've googled this), or simply telling the truth might also get you out of it (it's borderline-ish but it can).

I've had four jury summonses but I haven't actually ever been seated. I got it postponed twice, then told the judge something that would have me dismissed twice. I actually kinda wanted to be seated the last time I went, but then a major hospital organization in my area called me for a job interview on the Tuesday morning after, so I changed my mind and said something to get dismissed.

Speaking of which, interviews suck, but phone interviews suck worse. I've had well over 20 interviews (probably close to 30 now) with no luck and in my latest one, it was a phone interview and I feel like I botched it badly with my uhhhhs, repeating words, and having to repeat myself.

Tell them your allergic to heat and can’t leave the house if it’s above 85 degrees! That should cover you through February! ??

I good tip is to talk slow and be confident, phone interviews are hard for both sides. In person interviews are all about Confidence and Attire. Dress to impress is true. When I review a resume I’m just looking for skills, degrees, licenses etc. I don’t pay attention to job history. Another big thing for me is eye contact. If you do all these you will find a job sooner then later.

1100 BC must have been brutal without AC.

it amazes me how there can be 40 inches of rain in one spot and so many other areas getting nothing for weeks lol

Hurricanes man, gotta suck but be cool at the same time. Thankfully it could never flood around my house unless I received 200 inches in 24hrs.

Is there a hardship form you can submit? If not, call your Clerk of Court.

haha my friend here in Dallas was joking earlier "I hate our weather" but at least we'll never have to be on the roof waiting for rescue... :p

I saw one of the worst floods in this area when I first moved here and yeah it doesn't remotely compare

Yay, nothing like waking up to a bloody cough and a wall in my nose, welcome to first fall

Too bad recurving Atlantic TC's don't help flip the pattern like recurving typoons...
Too bad the typhoons this year that have recurved haven't done much at all and stayed weak.

Every time I look at the models, it gets more and more concerning. The Euro and GFS keep the heat rolling all run with no relief in sight now, and at this point it hurts to look at. We are going on week 3 of no rain and 2 more weeks of the same is enough to drive you crazy.

Yeah and even though the tropics don't appear to be slowing down there's also no indication that anything will get remotely close enough to be beneficial. Honestly it's a weird pattern, usually when the pattern is deflecting TC's left and right you at least benefit from digging troughs....

Dry surface and air can be good if looking for early wintry IP sleet across western NC. Just need a batch of rain to fall into temps in the 40s. 43.2 Boone Hospital this morning.

I'm sure late Oct or maybe even into Nov we will flip straight from Summer to Winter, the atmosphere has to blow it's gasket at some point and cool

Yeah, maybe the longer the heat hangs on into October and November ends up being a good thing when we get to winter. I'd rather wait until December for it to flip to cold.

Slow down birdbrain, even WBZ isn’t supportive of IP with warm air on top of the inversion, freezing level is way to high for sleet, and there’s no refreezing layer with the WBZ, we get it, your excited for wintry precip to, but ridges come first 4CCBE551-B5CA-4D9D-AEFF-7F8E51425570.png
