I wouldn’t necessarily call one 18z run a trend. We shall see at 00z how it goesNot a fan of the 18z EPS trend in the pacific

ShowYeah but the pacific already looked like a step in the wrong direction
Interestingly, if you break that down by storm type, that uptick actually has a lot to do with ice storms!Notice the early December uptick in historic storms ????
Nice work here.Check out this masterpiece
We finally have a nice climo chart like this to call our own in NC!

Could someone briefly explain what he means? Thanks in advance ?
You’re awesome Eric! I really appreciate your dedication to continue working on NC Climatology despite having left the state. I hope that this bring great use to me and my ERA-5 research plots.Check out this masterpiece

I think this person is excited because this graphic has the MJO favored over the Western Hemisphere (ph. 8 and 1).
This is great Webb. Would be interesting to plot graphs of each decade or certain time period to compare it to the graph aboveCheck out this masterpiece

Don’t worry. It will change in 6 hours. Not a fan of the 18z EPS trend in the pacific
Probably not enough data to do that. You’d just see one giant spike at certain areas unless it was smoothed like crazy. This is great Webb. Would be interesting to plot graphs of each decade or certain time period to compare it to the graph above
Decades would probably work, like we hear a lot that the 80s were a snowy decade, this would be a good graphical way to show it.Probably not enough data to do that. You’d just see one giant spike at certain areas unless it was smoothed like crazy.
Wow this is truly amazing stuff here. We may get into weenie bouts here sometimes but I’m truly so impressed with the stuff you’ve done for the state
Yeah the data is unfortunately too noisy for this to see any real trend :/. I already smoothed that plot earlier in the thread with a 15 day running mean filter. Maybe if you lump together several decades you may see something?! What I did notice tho is that ice storms seem to have a slightly earlier climo peak (by about a week) vs snow storms. This is great Webb. Eh I don’t know, I’ve gotten to use to rug pulls ?I wouldn’t necessarily call one 18z run a trend. We shall see at 00z how it goes
Actually, that trough off the NW coast was going to retrograde back toward the Aleutians and pump up the western ridge. We good.ICON is a complete fail and was about to dump out west View attachment 96022
I think that piece would eventually cut off unlike in the GFS though.Eh idk I’m not a fan of this look, it’s like the 06z GFSView attachment 96025View attachment 96026
