Clipper is likely precip up in the air. Will have to wait a few more model cycles. And welcome aboard!

Also, clippers typically don't produce snow in Atlanta. They may produce a brief line of rain showers as the parent low tracks through TN/KY into northern NC and VA. Many times long range models improperly drive the short wave too far south. It will be correctly modeled once we are within 60 hours and you will see most, if not all of the precipitation stays north of Atlanta.

Don’t know what to tell yah ??‍♂️ rain cold live in a valley? I’m in apex and we definitely had an hour or so of calm winds which picked up there after .. now it’s gusty then calm then gusty then calm .. pretty classic

Check out the 12/23/2022, 12z NAM. It has the right idea.

Yea I kinda figured it was about a 0 chance based on what I’ve tracked historically…. BUT… I figured maybe we had a slight chance given how crazy this cold shot is haha

I'm just playing man. It's gusty here too...it's just been about the same all day except for the bigger spike when the front was coming through.

The GEFS keeps the snow confinged to TN and north of there. My snow mean is 0". It's not just the NAM keeping it dry. Regardless, I'm still hoping for an after Christmas miracle! I keep watching the runs, hoping it changes for the better.

Oh, I agree with you! I'm saying that most of the time, clippers go too far north. It just so happens the NAM is showing it going to far north, which is why I mentioned that it has the "right" idea. It is not alone in sending the clipper through the Ohio Valley, though. See the GEFS.

We may not be as cold right now but dude that wind is FEROCIOUS... you really wanted it to be colder??
 
Front is sort of muted here. Only sitting at 42. Numerous locations in Virginia below zero though. Grayson Highlands is 9 below at 5k so Mount Rogers and Whitetop are probably sitting at 12 or 13 below.

Absolutely! Always want to be in on historic weather for our area, not just fringed. One of these states is not like the others.

It’s like a blue norther that made it all the way to the eastern seaboard. Normally for us in the upstate we only see these mid day temps in the 20’s when a wedge is building in ahead of a gulf low pressure system. This is a strange day for sure. No snow for me but property damage is right around a grand and counting. Big limb fell on my buddies house down the road and put a hole in his attic.
