So as some of you know today is day 14 with still no results back from CVS. On Wednesday I went to a local DHEC site that was testing for free and was contracted out to a local health agency. I just got a call from them 2 days later and I’m officially COVID NEGATIVE.

Still no test results from CVS. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
That sucks but I am glad that you no longer have the virus. How do you feel?

During the lockdown I couldn’t travel to the OBX or MB. I couldn’t dine at my favorite restaurant. I couldn't go to the mall. I couldn't go to church. I couldn't go to my favorite state or national park. Many people couldn't go to the office. And I could go on but I shouldn't have to. I'm not trying to be rude but to suggest that we were never really in a lockdown is just plain wrong.

So true story, my cousin almost died years ago in a car crash.....he had drove up to the local community college that day for class, but was feeling under the weather, after his first class he felt so bad he decided to go home, while sitting at a stop sign he passed out from the high fever he was running and this caused him to take his foot off the brake and roll out in front of a car going 60 mph that hit him right in the driver door. Turned out he had a really bad case of pneumonia.....he died 3 times that day but luckily 30 yrs later he is still with us. So how would you classify that death had he died.....what caused the wreck? Witnesses say they saw him slump over in the seat before the car moved into traffic and the fact he was unconscious was what probably saved his life.....not saying that happened here in this case but just giving a actual example of how things like Covid and driving can lead to death.....
The cause of death should be a car crash. If you go to sleep behind the wheel, they don't classify the cause of death as sleep.

This is basic stuff that they are monkeying with and why misinformation is so easily sown and conspiracy theories so easily flourish these days.

Most of this stuff is really common sense:

If you die from a car crash, the cause of death should be car crash. Mask wearing reduces the chance of expelling or inhaling droplets, the primary mode of Covid/virus transmission. Do they stop people from touching an infected droplet and touching their eyes? No. Do the eliminate the risk of infection completely? No. Do mask mandates make a difference? I guess that depends on the people's adherence to it.

The truth is, all of this discussion about masks gets so murky that common sense gets lost. Masks ABSOLUTELY reduce the risk of infection. 100% true. You simply cannot argue otherwise. But it is not the be all end all of the solution. Nowhere close.

As we all can easily see, mandatory mask wearing isn't effective because there are other ways to catch this easily transmissible virus and because not everyone will comply.

In no way can you coherently argue that wearing a mask isn't helpful. The degree to which it is helpful can be debated. In the end, it's a smart thing to do, along with good hand hygiene, good social distancing practices, and being smart about where you go and what you do.

If mandating masks was effective, Indiantown, Florida wouldn't have had the explosion in Covid-19 cases that eclipsed cities around the area back in early May. The city was under the stay-at-home order and the County had mandated masks be worn by it's citizens, but the mostly Mexican and Guatemalan populations didn't adhere to the laws. The city didn't even have a police station to enforce the order cause illegal immigrants are all about defunding the cops. These communities needed supplies, but didn't receive any.

Why you ask? Because the one Democrat in office appointed as the Agricultural Commission never really asked for it, and then blamed Governor DeSantis when cases spiked. A "review of documents obtained by POLITICO from the Division of Emergency Management shows that the commissioner never actually asked for medical supplies from the agency that could supply them. Instead, she made an informal recommendation to a task force appointed by the governor."

She never actually made the requests, and then lied about not having power to submit requests. Instead, she submitted a list of recommendations a week before the outbreak blossomed in migrant communities, and then made zero effort to acquire those supplies. She dropped the issue while other departments made requests for supplies.

Let me ask the group, how much is the $600.00 a week CV unemployment causing the spread? I know several cases of young healthy people intentionally infecting themselves so they can be sent home from work and collect the money for no work. One individual got herself infected and then went cubbing for a week after being quarantined. coincidence or cause of the spike in cases? Good thing is we reach herd immunity faster, though. By the way this person was asymptomatic. She also knowingly endangered vulnerable people at her work place. It doesn’t take many bad actors to cause a super spreader event. If true, passing the CV relief package has negative consequences. Just like almost everything the government does.

This sort of behavior is almost certainly anomalous. Most normal people don't think like this and aren't out there intentionally contracting and/or spreading the virus.

Let me ask you a question, if you dont mind:

Do you believe herd immunity is likely with this virus? I.e. you catch it one time and then you're essentially immune for a very long time or perhaps permanently. If so, what do you make of the studies that are coming out that show antibodies rapidly decline after infection?

Maybe that will turn out to all be BS. But it seems worthy of serious consideration at this point, at least.

Studies are showing this will be like the flu IRT immunity so far, with slightly different strains every year, but there seems little chance that this virus is going to go away anytime soon, best case IMO is it slowly weakens over time to something like the weaker flu strains and then every year they will develop a vaccine that will help limit it some...and like the flu there will be the stronger less common strains that are stronger and more dangerous and will be responsible for the majority of deaths year to year.....basically we have added another slightly nastier than the flu bug to the system we have to deal with every year. The study below explains why there have been a few unlucky folks to already have Covid twice....and also why herd immunity is not going to happen.....at least not lasting effective herd immunity.

"For some patients, no antibodies were detected after just a few months, throwing doubt on hopes for a long-lasting vaccine. "

Arizona reports 2,742 new cases and 147 new deaths. 106 of the 147 are due to death certificate matching.

“The team tested subjects who recovered from COVID-19 and found the presence of SARS-CoV-2-specific T cells in all of them, which suggests that T cells play an important role in this infection. Importantly, the team showed that patients who recovered from SARS 17 years ago after the 2003 outbreak, still possess virus-specific memory T cells and displayed cross-immunity to SARS-CoV-2.”

This is so very promising. Never underestimate the immune system of a human being.

I would posit that your best defense is a healthy immune system. Enough exercise, plenty of rest, quality foods and vitamins and limited stress should belp boost the immune system. Stay away from drugs and alcohol.

I guess that is good news though only 8000 people where known to have SAR's in 2003 and 800 or 10% of them died.....the fact is so far people are not keeping their Covid19 antibodies more than several months....this means no herd immunity in the short term and means vaccines will only be 30-40% effective. The real hope is the virus degrades into something similar to the common cold...

If antibodies drop and T cells take over, that would be good too. If you have symptoms, stay away from others. The vulnerable stay vigilant and the rest go back to business as usual seems to be a reasonable approach to me.

Is this for real? 32k dead with 6k alone in nursing homes was such a great plan

It's so bad even the Democrats up there are going to have investigations over it

Seems there are 2 camps. First camp wants everything to go back to normal but refuses to be a part of any solution. Wont wear mask, wont take it seriously, blames everyone else for the current situation. Second camp doesnt mind wearing masks, social distancing, willing to listen to experts.

Both camps want he same thing but one camps methods will not lead to the results they want.
