Coronavirus (Stay on Topic)

Last time I checked, global pandemics that kill millions of people in the span of several months don't take place "all the time"

Millions killed?????? How about 586,422 Globally (John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center)

Pretty sure there are tons of reasons other than politics for that.

1) first states hit hard without as much knowledge how to treat it
2) first states hit hard overwhelming hospitals and staff
3) population density
4) public transit
5) international travel bringing it in from every direction making it hard to contact trace and isolate
Sorry, you're ignoring the elephant in the room.

So you're assuming no one else is going to die from here on out with cases and deaths surging once again across the globe w/ no cure or vaccine immediately available?

I made the aforementioned statement on the premise that deaths will unfortunate tally well into the millions and that's a very reasonable assumption at this point

Stop spreading fake info. Report the actual deaths.

When someone pushes the public into acting a certain way(mask wearing) in order to not spread covid, yet ignores governors (dems) directly sending infected patients into nursing homes then we have an impasse.

The nursing home fiasco is a valid point but doesnt change the need to wear face coverings now. That's done and over as far as the nursing home issue. Investigate it all you want but that's not helping to stop the virus spread we are seeing now which should be priority number 1.

Seriously, what is your problem? Do you not know when to stop with the political drivel and one-liners? I'm really doing my very and upmost best to keep myself composed and civil with you, but I don't think I'm alone in saying that you really need to cut this crap out asap.

Here's my strategy:

Ask those who are in the higher risk category to limit their access to the general public, wear masks, gloves, even a face shield if necessary. Individuals who are not in the higher risk category should be allowed to continue their lives understanding any potential risk just like getting into a car and driving to work. To destroy one group's dreams, jobs, and livelihood over against another group is not necessary.

How about this for coronavirus facts. Day 12 and still no test results for me. 12

“I wOnDeR wHy ThE vIrUs Is SpReAdInG?”

Wow, that's actually insane. Why do you think it is taking so long to get your test results in your particular case? I'm naively thinking a backlog in testing but not entirely sure?

If so, that's insane and goes to show we really don't understand the true scope of this virus at this very moment and we are almost certainly vastly underestimating it (plus not everyone gets tested) and the numbers/figures we're seeing are lagged by at least a few weeks given covid's incubation period + cases backlog

My grandpa is still getting tests at the rehab center at huntersville oaks, Because 2 weeks ago he tested positive even tho he had no symptoms, the last test he got (which was negative) took nearly 6 days for results, my dad was about to cuss them out lol, but good thing is, 2 months after his Covid related stroke, he’s coming back home on Friday for sure this time

Backlogged. CVS just put out a notice on their MyChart 2 days ago that says it may take up to 10 days.

It’s been 12

Can't even imagine if you're legitimately sick with the virus trying to prove to your workplace you got it via a doctor's note &/or test results and by the time they come back you're basically better again lol.

This is actually a reasonable request and a policy such as this would be just as acceptable as the one we’re currently under.

I'm so glad to hear he's coming back home. ?

Exactly and on the other hand who in the hell
Is going to sit at home and wait 2 weeks on a test result when they don’t feel sick! Absolutely nobody. Not one person.

On a weather/covid related note, I can't even begin to fathom the kind of logistical and/or humanitarian nightmare a large-scale hurricane evacuation this season would pose during the middle of a pandemic where people are encouraged to stay at home.

Good Point,

Imagine the ---- show it would be at shelters and grocery stores.

I would expect deaths are probably already into the millions worldwide given how sparse testing is in a lot of the developing world. I’m sure Mexico is missing a ton of deaths given how sparse their testing has been, for example. Developed countries have no doubt missed deaths, too, but I’d expect it to be a lot worse in the developing world.

How about death cases where people died from heart disease and were counted as covid simply because they had antibodies present? I know one personally. Here's John Hopkin's world wide death count.

Closures of schools and day-care centres have little effect on coronavirus cases diagnosed among children and young people (July 13, 2020)

“Coronavirus infections with serious symptoms are rare among children and young people in both Finland and Sweden. Neither country has reported a single coronavirus-related death in the under-20 age group. According to current information children also pass on the virus less frequently than adults”, says Hanna Nohynek, Chief Physician at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL)."

Had to go to lowes this morning and saw a sad display of ignorance. One guy was trying to pay cash at a self checkout and they arent taking cash payments right now. That dude just took out his card and paid and left.

The little skinny meth head looking dude in front of me just goes off on the clerk about how lowes started this whole mess of no cash. That their liberal agenda was to push the 1 world order and that he hated everyone that worked there. Said they were all complicit. He said all the numbers were a lie and that the government agenecies were lying. Sad display and everyone was just looking at each other like WTF.

The look the register kid gave me when ingot there was of pure shock and speechlessness.

Well he's probably a flat earther too, so don't take anything he says too seriously.
