Misc Cold Season Complaining

Nice! Was just looking at the non-blues over the SE and extrapolating.

And that wasn't a shot at you btw. I just wanted to participate in the winter is over stuff.
I've been model watching long enough to know there was no way in hell these models were going to lock onto a perfect pattern 300+ hrs out and stay consistent with it. Way beyond their skill level. I fully expect to lose the Euro suite at some point too before they finally lock onto a solution and stick with it. One of two things are going to happen. It's going to continue to get worse and all the other models will jump on board and we'll be still chasing a 2 week pattern flip. Or it'll start trending back to a good pattern for the east in the next couple days. It's just still too far out to know

Man this place is starting to get overrun with the same type of people. It's quickly beginning to outweigh the emotionally stable people.
I think Feb 2021, when what was prognosticated as a surefire historic cold/stormy window for the east shifted to a historic cold/stormy window for the central time zone, radicalized a lot of people. It was in the middle of the pandemic winter and I swear it was 37 and rainy in Raleigh for 3 straight days. For that reason I think a modeled cold dump out east shifting to a cold dump to the central states/west triggers a fight or flight response in a lot of people, myself included

It wasn’t just central time zone that was cold and snowy. I was in Indiana and there was plenty of cold and snow.

Eh maybe. But most of us has had snow since that epic disaster. Not that I've forgotten about it I certainly havent. But not having snow in 3 years for most is the root cause of all this bickering back and forth. I know the early 90s were bad, very bad. But that seemed to have a bad luck component to it. Atlanta, Columbia, GSP areas actually didn't participate in that streak that NC got. There were actually misses to the south that caused that. And I'm certain there were ice storms in there as well. Now? Nada for anyone. And not even close. That's why this doesn't feel like the 90s to me. This is far worse. And morale is at all time lows.

Yeah I cant take another February of last year. So much model and meteorological consensus, only to dump in the west. I’m hoping for what the Euro shows but in the back of my mind… Ugh. Hope for the best expect the worst.

I feel ya here. That Winter did me in also. And it's why I constantly take jabs at Dallas getting sleet at 11 degrees & it snowing in Little Rock at 4 and etc.

Past couple of days we were smacking each other on the butt about all the snow we getting. And now…pre-emergent.

When in doubt…check with BradP, he knows all.

Ehh that’s not a torch pattern either as advertised. Not with the split flow look and troughing off Atlantic Canada. More like what we have already been seeing late Dec with persistent CAD and a few really mild days thrown in
