.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...
As of 100 PM EST Sunday: A series of weak systems will move through
the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys for the latter part of the week, with
some light snow showers possible late week in the mountains.
Otherwise, the trend will be slightly cooler each day with
temperatures below normal across the entire area by the weekend.
Another system may impact the area next Sunday with a wintry mix of
precipitation.

From GSP this afternoon.
 
Hoping for a big dog works like never around here. We need to hope for a little one that gives us a sloppy mix.

I want to see every single operational model and each ensemble member that exists showing snow for my area and unending cold for the duration of the run before I feel good about it lol

I know this is a joke, and I know people aren’t going to like this statement, but I bet from here on out we don’t see another banging fantasy run. Especially south of 85. The gfs was really the first model to run after todays system cleared out. Could it be on to something?

I understand that but for how many big events has the euro drug the GFS kicking and screaming to the finish.

A lot. I don't have any evidence of this, but it feels like to me the Euro took a step back a couple of years ago. And up until recently, we haven't seen the Euro Op run past 240. Not that any of that means the GFS is better. I just don't want to see any model start to step back from the extended cold and stormy pattern we've seen develop over the last few days.
