several people without power this morning
Yes he’s north of 40 now up there close to his good buddy @birdmanI forgot you moved and this post made me very confused
Well maybe the more extreme they are now, when they finally change, it will still be in the realm of wintry, just minor events, here one day gone tomorrow. Heck I'd be happy with something like that at this pointI understand it, I get caught up in it myself even though I know better. We're all desperate and the pattern holds some promise, so we let ourselves indulge in it. That's not to say I don't like the potential, I absolutely do, but I watch NWP for other regions and they still do the same rug pulls and it's going to happen - things will change massively before we hone in on a legitimate < D6 threat on the ops.
Congrats on breaking the record for most liked post ever lol.
I understand what you are saying, however, a lot of people in our ski industry depend on the cold. I myself am rooting for just enough cold and snow to make everyone happy, but nothing life threatening like the models are currently showing.Who the hell wants cold but not the snow. there's still ppl in Tents here in Asheville!!!
Mack is maxed out at 999 because he never checks his.
And after the last few years, I'm sure a lot of us were questioning if we would ever get a winter storm again. With the models spitting out fantasy storms, they at least calculate that there is still a way for it to snow/ice.I agree. But it is kind of fun seeing these historic solutions being printed out. It seems like it's been years since we've consistently seen fantasy storms and severe cold, even in the LR.
Ski industries are toast due to climate change alreadyI understand what you are saying, however, a lot of people in our ski industry depend on the cold. I myself am rooting for just enough cold and snow to make everyone happy, but nothing life threatening like the models are currently showing.

False you don't believe in climate change okay.False
That’s not true I am here to talk about sunny and 72! And yes, use the ignore feature instead of blowing up mods with reports! This is a general reminder that this thread is for complaint about the weather and model runs and for general banter.
This thread (or any thread) is not for complaining about other members, being passive aggressive toward other members, trolling other members, criticizing other members, or trying to upset other members.
This thread is not for repeating the same thing over and over (like "who wants cold without snow?"). You were heard and understood the first time.
Also, please let's stop with the "people who are interested extreme weather are bad because extreme weather hurts people" narrative. Nobody here (as far as I know) wants to see people get hurt. We're all here because we are fascinated by weather. Nobody is here to talk about 72 degrees and sunny skies.
AAnd lastly, please use the ignore feature if someone is annoying to you.
Thank you!
Ok Mr. Eye Roll.False you don't believe in climate change okay.![]()
Just stop now please, thanksFalse you don't believe in climate change okay.![]()
Only in spring when the crappie are biting! That’s not true I am here to talk about sunny and 72! And yes, use the ignore feature instead of blowing up mods with reports!
In before Drizzle Snizzle says 1989 isn't in the 90s.RDU's 4" events since 2000...and if you go back to the 90's we had a 4" event in 1989, 1993 and 1996, and we know how bad the 90's were. So this stretch from 2018 to now what will be 2025 is the longest stretch going without a 4" that I can find looking back to 1980.

This 100%!! I just don't get people wanting double digit snowfall and life threatening cold, That just makes no sense to me!I understand what you are saying, however, a lot of people in our ski industry depend on the cold. I myself am rooting for just enough cold and snow to make everyone happy, but nothing life threatening like the models are currently showing.
Things should run way better than the past. Time will tell. How hard and fast do I have to refresh the site before it crashes ?
We run donation drives every once in a while, or you can message @SD or @Rain ColdHow do I donate to support these forums?
The rug has been pulled. Slow trends in the wrong direction rarely reverse. We have gone slowly from Northern NC getting 12-24 inches to eastern NC getting a storm to the se NC coast getting some snow to the FLA panhandle getting snow. I doubt it gets better from here. When rug pull?
this isn't a trend i would look very far into. if i still lived in wilmington i would feel pretty good about where we sit currentlyThe rug has been pulled. I'm going to break out my parachute pants and start break dancing.I literally stayed awake in my bed texting my Dad after that euro run until about 2 AM. He said this reminds him of the 1980s. Can’t wait to see where we go today and am fully ready for my pain, but usually the good trends have already stopped and the threat has vanished. Fun time of year!
See my screen name.I'm talking about rooting for extreme Weather, Like rooting for a hurricane and then one like Helene hit.
It's not likely a 1-2" snow is gonna kill too many
