I’ve been around for years but I don’t post often, however I thought this warranted sharing. I’m a snow lover like most of us, but living in the Upstate of South Carolina has been a heartbreaker the last few winters. My fiancé gave us a white Christmas! Luckily the temps and dew point lined up just right and we were able to cover our front yard in about 6 inches at the deepest spot over Sunday and Monday night. With the sun angle, it’s still gorgeous on Christmas Day. Hopefully this will bring us some of the “real stuff” but this SG7 Snowmaker was worth every penny!

Actually I think the main question should be how many times has the MJO been favorable with those looks. Not many times have we had a favorable MJO in recent years that's for sure.

Our predominate pattern the past 7-8 years has been the GOA ridge, west trough...we can't waste this. No telling how many more years we get to deal with this GOA ridge dominated winters.



We had a good 12 year period where it was our time...hopefully sometime in the near future we revert back to this for another 10-12 years.

I usually don’t pay a ton of attention to deterministic models that far out but the overall pattern on the AIFS makes some sense with another positive torque coming down the pipe in addition to (& probably more importantly) the big +U surge in the tropics from other previous + torque events fluxing momentum equatorward and the MJO passage in the pacific

For SC guys; don't fall for it. Gotta be North of I40, above 2000ft, or Eastern NC for late bloomers to have a chance anymore. SC is the same as FL now. Accept it.
