there may be a loose correlation between warm Christmas and cold early-mid Jan with usual timing of pattern shifts lol
Of course we were fixing to be on our way to the playoffs in December 2015 as well

My favorite one was 2003-04. Snowed on my birthday that year and the late Feb storm was awesome.

That Late Feb mauler (17 inches) was great.
Jan 2000 not so much because of the crusher, but that 10 day stretch was a belly full. You ever get a stretch like that, you don't even bother to look for snow threats the rest of winter. Quenches the thirst.

I have never more seriously considered a major increase in latitude in my 38 years. For someone as obsessed with winter as I am (I went to school for 6 years due to this obsession for pete's sake), have worked in the field now for 17 years (counting said school years) to have only seen 8" of snow as my all-time storm record is beyond insanity. I love winter weather so much I made a career out of it and I am beyond miserable every year. I don't even like convection, a well-known fact by everyone who knows me. Why I live in NC is beyond me.

I wish I had known that Jan 2000 to Feb 04 was a generational run i would have appreciated it more. If it wasn't for that 09 storm it would be 22 years since I've seen more than 6 where I lived
