Misc Cold Season Complaining

If CLT is 33/34 no possible chance you and I arent 31/32 especially with elevation diff. Some areas up around you are where 1000' start.

Meh, yeah foothills just to my northwest perhaps but not near 77 I wouldn’t think. But even with 31/32 that’s not much in regard to zr. Just mainly the coldest rain possible imo.

AI with a beauty of a run...1.5" of rain at 33-34F...welcome to Feb in the SE

This is the kind of pattern that makes me think an -nao by itself is not really useful to the SE for winter weather. The pacific MUST cooperate as that’s most of where our real cold comes from. Modeled to have a great -nao and it’s not going to do it the next 10 days.

My wife had all but accepted a Traveling Contract in Nashua NH (Basically Lowell MA ) for Feb 1st to May 15th..... Knew we shoulda done that smh.... thats 45 miles NW of Boston theyre gonna need atleast 1 yard stick

Grass is growing, bees are out, and those stinky trees are trying to bloom

And I’m wearing shorts today

A great mid-March day

Except it’s February 7th
My grass is not growing yet. I don't see any bees. The swamp maples are just starting to bud out, though. I've got daffodils up now!

I'd still say it's a mix of brown and green grass here.

But I'll tell ya, there was a scene today in which I walked into where I may as well have been in Florida for this time of year. I went to Phinizy Swamp and saw two alligators resting in the sun with it being very warm and humid.

Everything is dormant up here still but my bees found pollen from somewhere. Might be robbing another hive. My daffodils are about 3" out of the ground now but they still look rough.

Is it even possible for the Carolina’s to be in the pink on these long range clowns? No matter how good or bad a pattern is we’re always on the fringe. Not saying it’s a great pattern just saying they always look the same I guess.

I’d hate to see Boston miss out on a big snow! IMG_9268.pngIMG_9267.png

I've seen what looks like Ryegrass pop up and already get a couple inches tall. Lack of soil moisture is going to put the brakes on that pretty quickly though.

I know I beat this dead horse constantly I just can't get over how dry it is in the coastal plains. Every field getting plowed is a dust storm and these warm days have made it even worse. ILM says we have rain coming next week but "light" in nature. My pond could in theory be about 10' deep at the lowest point but hasn't been more than 2-3' deep since Thanksgiving. It went totally dry last summer and got about half full in August, almost dried out again in September and filled up about halfway again during Helene. The old folks next door said they haven't seen it this low for this long in about 20 years which would match up with the "Millenium" drought where the Lumber and Little Pee Dee river flows went to basically zero.

I think things go back to looking like they did a few days earlier, meaning the southeast will be very warm. It also will be fairly dry south of I-40. Feb and March are lost causes for winter precip in the southeast now due to global warming.
Why are you now posting in the main thread about winter weather possibilities coming up, when you recently posted this (see quote)? I believe the record snows along the gulf coast this winter has put an element of doubt in your beliefs about GW. Just saying .....

Pretty big increase from 18z to 0z NAM
May score a 1/2 “ nowIMG_9288.pngIMG_9289.png

I’ll be in Lebanon MO Monday-Wednesday to see my sister and job related, maybe I’ll see some snow

I really hope the upcoming system over performs for the folks in North Carolina. I remember a time watching Glenn Burns sometime in the late 2000's (2000 - 2009) and the radar was all rain, and then someone flipped a switch and the wedge came in and everything on the radar turned from green to blue. I tried to find a video or more accurate information to confirm my story about this scenario and could not find any at this time but I vividly remember watching it and how he talked about the wedge. This time its your turn.

The Charlotte metro area is quickly becoming the laughing stock of this winter snow wise. Just awful
It's so damn ridiculous at this point. You probably wouldn't find an area in the whole country with the negative departures of this area. GSP, AVL and CLT only have maybe 5% of their average for the entire 3 year period. Very understandable why this area is home to the most pessimistic people on this board smdh

These weather models are like being in an abusive relationship.

Here they go again, apologizing and saying "it'll be different this time" 200+ hours out.

Another banger at the end of the Euro AI run. Things are really shaping up great for the last week of February to save us.
The end, always at the end! We're done man. We had our 2 pitches right down the middle. We swung and missed the 1st popped up in the infield on the 2nd. We're out!!!

I'd probably be making plans to move north in the next few years then.

There’s Condos for sale ON TOP of Beech at like 5500’ (according to topo map) Hell just move up there or get a spare Condo. A couple 2br around 200K. Tbh I’d just live up there if not for my family. If you look up Banner Elk / Beech it claims it has Similar Climate to MA / NE Ohio ect and you could fly down the mountain and be back to Civilization in like 2hrs. One thing I think that’s not talked about more so than “Move North” it’s like GREAT teams in sports , they can have a bad game (Setup) and still win. We’re essentially a below avg team that needs perfection and no mistakes to cash. So aside from Being North, they literally just have way more ways to score not just one setup like us. They can hit off a little clipper, a coastal, an inland (in some places) we’re pretty steady needing Pensacola - Savannah track
