I’m ready for summer. Bring on the 90s.
Some of the climate models already have full blown NW flow + precip anoms running from the OH valley to the Carolina’s signaling a big MCS season so there’s thatI’m ready for summer. Bring on the 90s.
I don’t know what that means but it doesn’t sound like 90s and sunny. Some of the climate models already have full blown NW flow + precip anoms running from the OH valley to the Carolina’s signaling a big MCS season so there’s that
It means clouds go "Boom"I don’t know what that means but it doesn’t sound like 90s and sunny.
Means derechos and mega wind bag storm setups with high T thunderstorm fuelI don’t know what that means but it doesn’t sound like 90s and sunny.
Means cut offs and CAD don’t buy itI don’t know what that means but it doesn’t sound like 90s and sunny.
Everything is really dormant right now. Poor centipede really took a beating. daffodils are way behind schedule. Let me check to see if the swamp maples are turning red...My daffodils finally broke through the ground and are up about an inch. They look rough too. Winter weeds are finally going too.
Yep Beats freezing your Ass off, And the mess Snow makes!! Bring it onI’m ready for summer. Bring on the 90s.
Exactly. For my area it means strong downdraft winds as the storms decay to my west. Everyone says “it’s coming up a storm”, and I’m like no it’s dying. People get fooled by the clouds and wind but in the end, no rainMeans derechos and mega wind bag storm setups with high T thunderstorm fuel
60 mile 60 degree gradient is crazy
Stampede Pass Washington gets 100 inches on a down yearA good pattern for Seattle guarantees a snow for them. Must be nice getting above normal snow winters every year View attachment 167401
Highest snowfall city on the planet!Well you could live in Aomori Japan, they average 312 inches of snowfall per year
I’d move there and they’d have the least snowy winter in hurry and get like 48”Highest snowfall city on the planet!
Another plane crash is crazy

Feb 1st! Wecome to met spring!
And if you want a bigger metropolis, Sapporo isn’t far away and averages close to 200” of snow per year with a population of 2 million.Well you could live in Aomori Japan, they average 312 inches of snowfall per year
1996 had two major plane crashes in a few months with around 400 combined fatalities, as well. We also had a major plane crash that killed 265 in November 2001, just a couple months after 9/11. I think people forget how much planes used to crash. It’s one of the most impressive things how much safer flying is nowadays.Eh maybe but go read about 1985. Those were 200+ people too
We've been on a lucky stretch too long

We are now at over 20 years since the last “major” US airline crash (i.e. not a mainline carrier). Unfortunately, we’ve had two regional jet crashes since then (Buffalo in 2009 and now the crash the other day).
I wouldn’t get too excited. If the Carolinas and other areas do score in the period around Valentine's day I hope it will be a big snowstorm. The snowfall record for RDU on Feburary 14 is six inches recorded in 1913. That's a record that can be broken with a decent sized snowfall accumulation.
This tells me all I need to know. There’s no point in even checking in for Feb cause this is what it will be.GFS drops 40 inches in Cleveland
