Quick story time that nobody really cares about but I’m gonna tell anyway!

It was January 2008, I was 10 years old and I went to school thinking we weren’t going to get snow the next day, then I get out of school, travel to Montgomery and to my surprise, we’re under a Winter Storm Watch, then a couple hours later we get put under a Heavy Snow Warning with 4 to 6 inches of snow forecasted so I’m all excited, literally staying up all night watching the radar.

We ended up with a 1 inch of snow…which was cool cause that was my first real snow event but still

I remember this event well. The very next month our house was destroyed in a tornado. The first part of 2008 had some wild weather !

There was actually another Snow/Ice event just a couple days before this one.

And STILL can't get a decent snow. Last week we were too far south and got warm nosed, next week we will be too far NW. Will we ever get a solid one again?

Just scrolled through that entire GFS run and there’s no sign of AN temps til Feb1 and even that looks transient. We’re about to have the coldest Dec/Jan combo since the Pilgrims landed and I have less than a dusting of snow

Why are people surprised. Like holy hell it’s the same thing everytime. You don’t want to be in the sweet spot at hour 48-200. Quit wishing for digital snow if you want actual snow!!

Is the CMC really getting ready to score a coup here? If so, this could a historic storm for most of us. The 0Z Euro went way NW with the precip with the energy on the models digging more SW. This is getting real spicy!

I’m cautiously optimistic right now, but my streak of not having a one inch snowfall since February 12, 2010 is rapidly looking as if it will be eradicated very swiftly.

Edit : I do feel bad for the Beach bros though. I’ve been in this position 100x it seems … you get all pumped and get F’d at last minute by Blacksburg VA and Nashville. Hopefully some solution for all of us sticks
