That's exactly what I am thinking for my area also with it continuing to amp up run after run.. Hopefully it will be more sleet that freezing rain.

We should be ecstatic to be seeing snow even fall from the sky considering it's been 3 years! But something about breaking the streak with only a dusting to 2 inches while areas with worse snow climo get 4-6 inches just takes some of the fun away. Smdh maybe things will change between now and then.

im not convinced yet. I fully expect our NWS office to reduce forecast amounts for N AL tonight or tomorrow and I still wouldn't be surprised by 1" or less.
I'm hoping for better of course.

ETA: they've already reduced from 4-7 this morning to 2-5 this afternoon. I expect to see more reductions.

We’ve been here and done this many times. This is at most an inconvenience. Slushy mess where the snow is brown and you can see the weeds easily through the slush.

Live in Chapin, never get snow. Have to go to charlotte Friday. And damned they aren’t even getting snow. Smh

What you mean? If cae gets snow we won’t go. If they don’t, we are going to charlotte either way. Had plans up there where only excuse to miss is if the roads aren’t safe. So I was hoping to at least see snow up there.
 
Welp, might as well go play the computer in Yahtzee.
 
Anybody ever get a sense of almost sadness when you only have to wait like 10-15 minutes per model run to get to the hours of interest? It has been such a long and taxing track of model watching and we are almost to verification. It is a bittersweet feeling, especially if you are on the outside looking in at this point. We just don't get to do this much anymore, so I always hate when we are near the end of a threat. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we have a few more to track this winter.
 
Gonna be honest, reading the forums today has just felt very...womp womp. Will be nice to see some snowflakes, but knowing what could have been is a gut punch. Reality sucks. Put another way:

Worst part about it all is the schools will close but because it’s not really anything of substance the workplace will stay open. Meaning a wasted vacation day.
