Hazy hot and humid
Nah its gonna start off with a major heat wave ( mid 90s with heat index 105+)Looks to start off with more of the same July wetness to me.
With it being so wet lately and soil moisture is high, we'll see how close to 100 we end up getting.Temps in the 100's for Atlanta very soon. It's gonna get worse before it gets better
At least it will be fall in about a month (September 1st)Temps in the 100's for Atlanta very soon. It's gonna get worse before it gets better
There is a reason Atlanta very rarely gets 100 degree temps, soil moisture and elevation. The elevation hasn’t changed, and soil moisture is up. You nailed it.With it being so wet lately and soil moisture is high, we'll see how close to 100 we end up getting.
Why tho? Forecast looks cool later this week and snow love said fall starts September 1!I honestly don't feel great about this month. Have a feeling we have a nagging summer on our hands and this month is going to be a lot of 90s and humidity
At some point we lose the ridge in the west and the bermuda ridge becomes the main driver. That's not a mega hot pattern it's just mehWhy tho? Forecast looks cool later this week and snow love said fall starts September 1!
I expect a hot, dry month and a month from now the ground will be bone dry.I don't think we see 100s here. High of only 98 in June and now sitting on 11.89" of rainfall. Hit 96 in July. Probably 95 is the best we can do.
No chance of a cold front here! The weather pattern for the next ten days or so looks pretty typical for August in Central and Eastern North Carolina with highs in the nineties, humid conditions and chances for scattered thunderstorms every day. The tropics need to be kept monitored for potential development towards the weekend and early next week but otherwise the weather will be nothing out of the ordinary for early August.
That's a ten on the misery scale if you are outdoors. That is one of the highest heat indices I've seen this year.95/80 HI 116
I’ll take August over July any day. Sun is less intense and we are close to fall. Nights are usually a little cooler later in the month. And it’s the start of football season. Plus the tropics are usually fun to track.August isn’t a terrible month. Grass slows down by the 15th and doesn’t need cutting as often no matter how much rain. Sun angle is dropping and it hurts less to be out in it. About a 1 in 3 shot I’ll be pulling out a light jacket or long sleeve for the Southern 500 Labor Day Weekend based off the past decade. Dropping into the mid to low 60s with lower humidity feels positively autumnal after months of heat.

Could be. That sensor is near the river and swampland so I could see a DP max in that area. A friend that lives west of there by 20 miles had a 80 DP on his Davis last night so it's seems plausibleYou think this dew-point sensor is right?
