Once it eats/merges with the cell incoming it'll likely cycle back. These small cells coming up from the south have likely kept this cycling instead of one long track.

Looks like it ingested that convective mass to its South and it causing it some issue. Once it works through that I expect this thing to tighten up again.

My dad lives in Helena right by the ABC dash cam in Hillsboro. My sister lives in Pelham. They are here at my house now in the basement, I am right off the exit near the galleria.

Yep if it can work through this and tighten up again doesn't look to be anything holding it back from being a long tracker.
A quick look at the WRFs, ARW hammers north AL, but the NSSL version keys around BHM. This early cell to the south makes me lean toward the NSSL.
