The weather to the West of Ian is nothing short of glorious. It's as if it was the "perfect storm" for Fall weather on the backside (September Voldermort). I hate that folks in the path of the storm had to go through this though...I have empathy...been through a few canes in my life.

NC State not canceling outright, "condition 1" basically students must be allowed to make up any work they miss if they don't attend

All you can do is laugh if you live in the upstate. Steve O in Anderson you're about done. One more shift east it's dry for us all in the upstate. Congrats CLT to RDU you win again.

Does CJ have his suit coat off and sleeves rolled up?? Is this going to blow his apples?

If only it was gonna be 20-25 degrees colder tomorrow, this storm would be much more exciting lol.

These boomers are really aggravating…they loathe wfh so bad. I’ve been wfh/hybrid for 15 years with a couple of big tech companies and works awesome. These people will never change, don’t grasp innovation or how to recruit millennials/genZ’s.

I’m here to tell you, Gen Z ain’t gonna give them a choice.

I feel bad for a lot of those storm chasers like Josh Morgerman and Brett Adair. They all set up in Punta Gorda for the Charley repeat and instead Ian did what Ian's been doing; what he wants and staying south / east. He totally caught most of them off guard. What made it worse was they setup in an area that has been largely updated to newer hurricane codes after Charley so they didn't even have much wind damage to show for it.

On more than one occasion you could hear Brett Adairs frustration on his stream. I get it too. Getting those shots are where he makes him money.

And Reed Timmer has a magic 8 ball somewhere.

Yep…no doubt.
What are they going to do? Make more tik tok videos about quiet quitting and acting their wage?

Let them keep wasting their time trying to change the world (i mean complain and show their laziness) one tik tok at a time. It's clearing the way for me to leap up the ladder with much competition. ?

Don’t disagree…they are a different bunch

He's been pretty quiet. Poor fellow he should know better. The upstate is always a dividing line. His western viewing area may not get a drop while the east gets decent rain. Kinda like the 85 cutoff with winterstorms!

Shut up millennial ! Most of gen z doesn’t even have jobs yet ! Quiet quitting is all you and your millennial buddies ! Lazy millennials

From what I’ve noticed in the past 7 years where I work is the younger (20-28 ) crowd gets “bored” after 1-2 years and moves on. Some have great work ethic, others not so much. Heck I get bored about every few days but can’t imagine job hopping like that.
Also most don’t care about benefits. 401k, pension. They’d rather it just equate to higher wages. Some not all.

You are wrong about this stuff 95% of the time. Why do you keep typing posts like this? Seriously. Why?
I don't know but I can't help but want to see Jonesville stay dry even though that means I stay dry. The meltdown would be too good. Although Stevie down in Anderson really does have a good chance to stay dry and he'll probably provide a couple good meltdowns too

One the other hand I hope that branch knocked some sense into Cantore. If that was a piece of tin, the live audience may have seen him lose a leg. I get chasing hurricanes, I don’t get standing in the middle of the street where most flying debris will be funneled.

Yeah, I'm a bit weenie ? too. :) I knew this sucker wasn't going west of me like would've been great, but this thing just keeps going north east. Climo is really winning out here. I wouldn't be surprised if by tomorrow it bullseyes Raleigh.

Can anyone explain to me how a radar return is accurately reflective of the rain on a thunderstorm, and winter snow (meaning reds are generally heavy and greens are light or moderate), but in a tropical storm my rain is steadily the same whether I am under greens or reds?

Never thought about this. By chance are you using an app called Radarscope? It tends to overdo the banding colors in my experience.

Ok, fine. I've come to the acceptance phase. Raleigh ok, fine you get the tropical storm winds and rain. In 3 months though we get the winter storm in clt. Fair? Ok cool. Were agreed. Lol.

As a man of a strict routine, probably to a fault, with the loss of power I cooked my breakfast at 5:00 am this morning on my charcoal grill after my workout. I know I’m not the only one that has done this but sometimes I wonder if my neighbors think I’m a bit loco. Living so close to the city it is crazy how pitch black it is outside right now. While cooking my breakfast with just a flashlight I could see a shadowy figure approaching me which caused my heart to beat a few paces faster. It was just a possum, haha, but man we take so much for granted... Power, water, breakfast on a stove every single morning! It was definitely an eerie feeling. For me anyway I’m just amazed at God’s creation and how when it’s all said and done we will recognize that it is in fact His and not ours.

Happy to have the rain to get our creeks and streams back running, although it had been so dry none of the fish, crawdads are in them anymore, which is sad given those streams had them most of my life. Our reservoirs needed the rain as well. My grass, however, it was too little too late. No hopes of rejuvinating it as its already dead. Guess I can till it all back up, and some topsoil and feeder, then reseed again and see if we have a wet winter.

Summer grasses are going to sleep anyway. I kept running my sprinklers last week to see if it would help my Bermuda and that stuff was like nah I'm going to bed. By the time we get through this cool period and the one probably coming this weekend that stuff is going to tap out

This is what I said about the centipede that is in a portion of my front yard, but I have fescue everywhere else. Its been a struggle to keep it alive.

Found my new fishing truck today! It’s badass CED65B33-70DA-4D71-A0E0-7A021E000D01.png
