Never seen a run put the DGZ at literally 300 feet above the ground even if only a tick is fully saturated. Still interesting regardless.

TBH, I'm more disappointed in this Tuesday's system more then anything. 850s just a few degrees off from a novelty inch or two.

What does this mean?
Usually the dendritic growth zone is found way higher in the atmosphere. When it snows, that’s the region where it comes from. You’re usually talking the layer that is -10c or below in your sounding. That’s normally found way up, roughly 8k feet. In this case, it’s just off the ground comparatively. That’s how it snows so easily in places like Michigan. You don’t need a whole lot of moisture if your growth zone is close to the ground.

I can this this path for the low. For whatever reason the models want to create a second jet in IL from the SSW phase. Not doubting it. I just think there could be a scenario where the low travels East of the mountains based on the PVA jet locations. In this run, there was less interaction with the SSW which meant a further East low. Also, what's picking up the SSW currently is aircraft traveling from CONUS to HI, not soundings yet. 1671318744317.png

Thank you so much

Where's all the snow in Buffalo ? I was promised a snow game tonight !
If the stadium was actually in Buffalo it would be snowing! But it’s south of town in Orchard Park (bullseye of that huge lake effect storm a few weeks ago)

Think the LES band is supposed to drop back south later. Looks like it’ll be after the game sadly

Yep maybe by the 4th quarter if we are lucky but midnight or later seems more likely

I'm only surprised by the margin as I thought it'd be a close game throughout with the Vikings winning in a close one.

With that said, I've been saying for weeks the Vikings are frauds.

While I’ve not been thoroughly impressed with the Vikings I wasn’t prepared to call them frauds. This team has found all kinds of ways to come back and win. This comeback though is just amazing.

I hate the term Midsouth!
Agree. South is south. If it’s “mid” it’s something else.

Reminds me of when I was delivering pizzas for Dominos in college and they dropped the small pizza size so that there was only medium and large remaining. I argued with my manager that you can’t have a medium if you don’t have a small. He told me to take it up with corporate.
