I know that YouTube has some TWC coverage of January 1988 and I even think some local news coverage from GSP. Since you’re in CLT, you can found coverage of February 2010 which is neat because that storm arrived during the afternoon rush hour… also there is some on there from February 2014

I watch the 1993 superstorm. Even though it wasn’t really for our area. It was so neat seeing young James spann coverage

Logan Elliot: Ugh, I can't believe the 12z GFS run is a little warmer than the 06z run. This is so frustrating.

Tarheel1: I know, right? But on the bright side, the model looks great for snow in Iowa.

NoSnowATL: Yeah, but we really suck down here in the southeast. It's never snowing when we want it to.

Logan Elliot: I know, it's so frustrating. I'm starting to lose hope.

Tarheel1: Don't give up just yet. The models can still change. And remember, it's still early in the season.

NoSnowATL: Yeah, that's true. But I'm still upset. I was really hoping for some snow.

Logan Elliot: Me too. I can't believe this is happening.

Tarheel1: Hey, I'm from Iowa and I don't really care about the southeast anymore. The model looks great for my area, so that's all that matters to me.

NoSnowATL: Same here. I live in Florida and I don't really care about the snow anymore. It's never going to happen down here.

Logan Elliot: I guess you're right. But I can't help feeling disappointed.

Tarheel1: Don't worry about it. Let's just focus on the areas that will get snow and be happy for them. And remember, we're all in this together. Let's support each other and keep each other updated on the latest forecast.

NoSnowATL: Agreed. Let's hope for the best and stay hopeful.

Another one with some of the NC gang. I have a feeling we will see this play out almost exactly in a few months.
NickyBGuarantee: Hey guys, did you see the new GFS run? It went from 10 inches of snow to 0.

LickWX: Yeah, I saw that. It's so frustrating. I was really hoping for some snow.

SD: Me too. I can't believe this is happening.

MyFrotho704: Yeah, it's really disappointing. I was looking forward to a big snowstorm.

Jimmy Hypocrisy: I know, right? It's so frustrating when the models change like that.

NickyBGuarantee: I know, it's so frustrating. But I'm done. I'm not even going to look at the forecast anymore.

LickWX: Same here. I give up. It's not going to snow until 2024.

SD: Yeah, I'm done too. I can't take it anymore.

MyFrotho704: I know, it's so disappointing. But I'm going to keep an eye on the forecast anyway, just in case.

Jimmy Hypocrisy: Same here. I'm not going to give up completely. Let's just hope for the best and see what happens.

I honestly would like to find some local coverage from our area of that storm… if anything just to see how much the forecast changed as that Saturday morning progressed. When I got up at 7am, the NWS had CLT metro only changing to snow showers in the afternoon with little accumulation. Then I remember watching Larry Sprinkle do a live cut in just after 10am to show that Blizzard Warnings had been expanded south and east to include the entire CLT metro and accumulations would be 3-9”… I ended up with 7” at my parents house in Concord. It would probably be interesting to read some of forecast discussions from that morning to see when the local NWS office began thinking it was going to be a bigger deal for CLT.

Wow that’s was more than I thought for our area. That would be neat to see local coverage

Yeah it was…fairly certain that southern Iredell and the NW corner of Mecklenburg got about 10”. It’s odd considering the path of the low was virtually right overhead as CLT recorded it all-time low barometric pressure, even lower than Hugo. Of course it was an odd situation that it was almost a perfectly vertically stacked triple phased storm

Man I wish I was alive during that time. Imagine how poppin this place would be if something like that were to happen again
