This is my first time being in here for winter weather, usually here for severe weather but from what i gathered the past week is, one day you are happy the next dreams are ruined, is this normal for winter weather forecasting lol? I'm gonna assume tomorrow none of these models will be even remotely close to what we see now

For some areas I wouldn’t be surprised if precip doesn’t stop between when the initial front drops through (“first wave”) and when the low rides up the front (the “second wave”). If that precip is snow for most/all of the time in those areas, that’s where the jackpot will be

Anyone have a general idea on timing for this system? My mother in law is scheduled to fly out Thursday night after being here for a week... And I just don't think I can mentally handle that trip being extended by a canceled flight.

Is this the moment we say it’s still long range NAM and continue to use the Gfs icon and rgem?
