The pattern is bad and continues to look bad through Christmas. Truth is there is no guarantee we get cold in the southeast. Looks good for the west, northern plains and most likely the northeast. The southeast is dominated by orange and reds on the models as far as we can see. We're just hoping that the MJO progression and the NAO actually do what it's supposed to do for us based on history. But our weather history also tells me if it can go wrong, it will go wrong for the southeast. That's my negative post for the day, or my realistic post depending on how you look at it.
