Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

I'll admit, I'm quite satisfied with this winter. Anything trending to accumulating snowfall for my area this weekend is just icing on the cake! I've seen snow fall, twice this winter! Beats all expectation for me! This winter has a B+ rating in the grade book from me! Can only go up from here! Frankly, I'm ready to start working on outside gardening projects. I'm ready for spring and I do hope it's a cool one with limited severe potential. Those storms, and pollen, are the worst parts of spring.

Below average do far here. 1/2 inch won't cut it, but yeah ready for some warm weather and golf.

About to watch the fireworks between the haves vs the have nots as the 12z suite rolls in.

How do we make this work for NGA?

Further west neutral tilt, low running either just inland along the coast or just along the coast. That'd be an ideal situation for just us. NC would be mostly rain aside from the West 1/3 or so but it's also still possible it doesn't fly up the coast so fast and NC can still score in addition to N GA. Those are the 2 best situations that can be valid for us to score on this. H5 will tell all by mid week

Honestly I think this is probably over for you guys and myself. I just don’t see it working out for us. Also I feel like this is probably our last opportunity for this Winter. Good thing we hit on something two weeks ago.

Still all-in on a massive nor’easter. Hard to bet against Boston and the interior NE. Someone is going to be digging out for a long long time.
I think north Alabama and north Georgia are still in play. 06z GFS presented a clear signal for overunning.

I agree it’s our last opportunity.

Yes, we would need a very dynamic system with the vertically stacked low in those areas to really cool the column over us. I see this as a rain changing to snow situation at it's best.

GEFS still has a lot of variability at the end of the week. It could trend better or worse over the next few days. I think we will have a good idea by Tuesday, 18z runs. I'm not convinced this is our last chance, though. The northern hemisphere is reaching it's coldest point. It will be interesting to see where we go from here, for sure.

What do you mean? I just feel like it’s not everyday you see a system like this in a flow very fast with nothing to stop it, like the 50/50 low or blocking, develop a low inland and then cut it all the way up the coast. This to me is screaming big storm, light event or out to sea. Those are the options here imo .. I suppose if the trough was able to swing through earlier and flick the tilt sooner that would create an inland scenario but the tilt starts so positive it has such a long way to go to get to that negative state which is why I think it’s on the coast or off the coast
I agree with NickyBGuarantee. This is off the coast or out to see most likely. Not seeing much hope for AL/GA at this point. Still hoping it's our chance, though.

I know the GEFS is skewed down here with a couple big members as of 00z so... not feelin' it.

Yeah, I'm out on the weekend storm as well. Just don't think it's going to tilt, go far enough west in time. Almost looks like a carbon copy of last week.
