Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Admission: I’ve been using the term “Jeb walk” on forums for over a decade without even knowing the origin of the term. The lore in my mind is that there was a grizzled poster named Jeb who was known for heading out for a stroll in the absolute worst conditions, but that pretty much describes all of us.

What’s the true story behind this one?
Yep. You are 100% correct!

Yes! I got less than half an inch last night and it's basically gone now that the suns out. I REALLY want a hit next week. Then we can fail February and I'm fine. :)
Have over 6 inches for the year here, I want next weekend to put me over 10, the most since the winter of 13-14

This fluffy higher ratio snow doesn't do well vs sun
Speaking truth. The 8 inch snow that fell here with temps starting at 28 and ending at 22 degrees melted off fast. Even below freezing temps all day couldn’t stop the sun from eating it up. The best snows are the ones that drop a few inches of sleet if you like your snows to stick around. The upside though to high ratio snows is that they shovel very easily.

This will be the only time you’ll ever hear me say this .. but this could feel nice .. View attachment 109722
I’m actually ready to get above freezing for a few days. Low temp was 9 degrees this morning and I haven’t been above freezing since Wednesday afternoon.
