The closest analog I have found to this storm has been March 1980. Obviously some notable differences with less of a 50/50 low, and a low coming out of SE Canada. However, the wave orientation and tilt are similar. View attachment 103402View attachment 103403

Was that the one right before Johnny C retired and they both looked like goobers???? And Greer got like 10”?? That was Dec 18

Yeah that's the price you pay for amped with more precip. GFS is about the perfect scenario being amped enough for good precip but not flood the thermals with warm air.
