I remember when you came to TW I think me and metwannabe were the only nc members at the time. Remember the inauguration storm well was buying the WiNtEr Is OvEr after new years from so many. I believe that storm is the last 6+ storm I've seen in person
Yeah, it was a very Alabama-centric board back then, then we NCers began to corrupt it, hahaha.

That storm was kind of frustrating IMBY. It snowed for hours, but it was light so we only ended up with around 1” while Raleigh got their nice 6”. Still, it was cold so it stuck pretty well. March 2009 made up for it, though. And of course the winter of 2009-2010 did too, probably the best overall winter I can remember.

@Ollie Williams Yeah, I was feeling physically exhausted and somewhat depressed all day yesterday and last night was even worse. I had a huge argument with a now ex friend and now I'm just kinda done with life.
That's really sad to hear. I hope you feel better soon! 2020 has just been the year of the blues, just about everyone on the board deserves a snowstorm.

Carolina !!!!! Lessss go. If Carolina beats Notre dame then hypothetically we also beat Clemson !!!
Honestly I'm not really shocked UNC is hanging in there. I've felt for a while that ND is overrated. They beat Clemson without Trevor.

Just wanted to say that I moved to SW michigan over the summer for career reasons but given the dud that just happened in regards to this upcoming storm (had like 8-16 inches forecasted for my area up until yesterday morning) is proof that even if you leave the south... the south busts will follow you lol

or i guess i just needa stop looking at model storm projections greater than 72 hours out. but i cant.

At least you get another crack at redeeming yourself this winter in Michigan, sometimes an 8-16" busted forecast sting lasts for years, if not decades before another opportunity like that presents itself

You might wanna update your location ! It's good to see yet another state represented on here. If you are in SW Michigan I'm assuming you are near the lake which means you have a lot of snow in your future. Also, I don't think a forecast 4+days away that fails to materialize is considered a bust.

Yeah you're right def in a better position for sure. But man why do I feel like if I keep tracking storms it'll be the first winter where an area that averages like 40-50 inches of snow will see significantly less than that? Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me? Even when I was in NC i felt like, especially last 2 years, the more I paid attention to something the more likely it was to bust

Similar thing happened to me when I moved to western Massachusetts from 2018-2020. We busted hard on a snowstorm in January 2019. Had 18-22 inches of snow forecasted 3 days out by the NWS but only ended up with 5 inches of a crusty sleet/snow mix. Albany 30 miles to the NW got 17. I moved 500 miles north and still ended up on the wrong side of the R/S line lmao. At least in NC we bust by a few inches, but up there they bust by feet.

I ended the 2018-19 winter with less than 30 inches total, which was atrocious by New England standards. The area I lived in averaged over 60/year. 19-20 was about the same. The curse really does follow you wherever you go.

Got to see a Lenticular cloud today, always a bonus. Made it to Paradise and back.
