Yea you will forget about any pain you have and when you wake up 4 days later you will be right as rain.I had one of my best sleeps ever after taking oxycodone.
Depends on the severity of tooth pain... if real bad, nothing works, but ibuprofen works the best and longest.
Piggy back Tylenol then Advil , one lasts longer and between the two, they can help immensely! Sounds like a root canal is in your future!
It's an individual thing I guess.. because Ibuprofen works way better than tylenol for me. I've used it for severe gout and toothaches... Not to mention I've nearly poisoned myself with tylenol once, and was barely taking it over 2 days... massive vomiting. Advil does have long term issues with ulcers/etc you have to worry about. Also, with tooth pain, at least short term, you want to take 600 mg ibuprofen, which is prescription strength, rather than 400 mgs.Ibuprofen is mainly an anti-inflammatory. Tylenol is a better OTC pain reliever than Ibuprofen.
If you can, get to a dentist pretty soon. If it abscesses and gets into your bloodstream it can cause cardiac issues.
The dentist I went to 2 months ago for an extraction had plenty of covid measures in place.. No one in the lobby, you had to wait in your car for your appointment.. etcNormally I wouldn't hesitate assuming the pain doesn't go away. The downside of going to the dentist again is COVID worries. But I learned that first thing Mon morning is the best time to go due to weekend deep cleaning.
I had no issues at all... quick and easy back in Aug.I wonder in this day and age is it even easy to see a dentist for an emergency situation ?

I know one dentist I woudn't want to see: Dr. Britney Baker, DMD! She's cute but she's also mean and may beat me up!
I’m pretty well versed on pharmacology and pharmacodynamics, but you’re right about individuals. That’s why I tell people to alternate the two every two hours. You only have to worry about acetaminophen toxicity if you average over 100 mg an hour for a 24 hour period. Tylenol creates hepatic changes which in turn kills the liver and is a very painful way to die (liver failure from acetaminophen toxicity).
I was a lot younger, and stupid.. think it was a toothache in my 20s, and just kept taking too much tylenol because the pain was excruciating.. Probably drank some alcohol too. Very dumb.On the whole Tylenol thing, I watched a teenage girl pass away from acetaminophen toxicity. She OD’d committing suicide. Very painful death. They kept her on prophylactic pain meds just to manage her pain to make her comfortable. Nothing else could be done. She was basically in medically induced coma until she passed.
I had an abcess a few years ago and needed a root canal. 1 whole week of sleepless nights , I’d wake up at night and pull at my hair and bang my head against the wall. That was horrible pain! Tooth pain is no joke .Went through exactly that two months ago... I waited too long.. Oh, the agony!
I don’t even care at this point. Christmas makes me happy so if I see Christmas commercials I’m happyI'm already seeing Christmas commercials, and it's not even Thanksgiving.
Have you watched the Hallmark movies? They started Christmas in October.I am watching like the 20th Christmas movie so far this fall. Looking forward to Dolly Partons Christmas on the Square premiering on Netflix next Sunday ?
