I would love to have another February 2014.That was the last ATL major ZR and it extended to Augusta taking out the Eisenhower Tree at Augusta National. Tony (@dsaur )got a big hit as I recall. I (in Dunwoody) got my biggest sleet since 2/1988. It was a major storm with a combo of ZR, IP, and SN.
But, this wasn’t the last major winter storm I experienced. That honor goes to the historic SE coastal winter storm of January, 2018, which was also a combo of the 3 with 0.50” of ZR (heaviest since 1922) followed by a period of moderate sleet, and then ending as heavily falling snow. Total sleet and snow was near 2” and it stuck around for an amazing 4 days with hardly any melting in shaded areas due to the coldest week in decades!
