Was headed to take a shower when the lightening and thunder started. I remembered that you aren’t supposed to shower during a thunderstorm and decided that maybe I made that up, so I googled it. Nope, looks like that actually is on the list of 1001 ways to die. So as I sit here waiting for the thunder to fade out, I wonder, is this something y’all pay attention to? Are you on team shocking shower or team sit it out?

True Story:

Went with some friends to a buddy's hunting cabin. FIgure out after first night the shower is broken, so no more showers. At the end of the second day of fishing and drinking and no showers i was getting a funky. Just as i'm getting to the point of using a bucket and the hose, a thunderstorm rolls in and i get the genius idea to shower in the rain. SO there i am, in my bathing suit under the eve of a tin roof on a cabin that's on the top of the hill in the middle of a clearing during a thunderstorm showering. Not the smartest thing i've ever done, but it was a delightfully refreshing shower.

Yep, do that or have a ton of wet wipes. We have a creek next to our camp and we use that icy water sometimes.

15 years ago today......It really doesn't feel that long ago for me. My tv barely changed from TWC that entire weekend. The 12yr old me was in completely awestruck by this monster of a hurricane. Just like 9/11, it's just one of those moments in history you'll never forget.

I’d say Katrina is one of the earliest weather events I can recall quite clearly following. Like you, I was glued to TWC for days. I was 13 at the time.

What a storm. I remember when it hit 175 mph in the central Gulf making a beeline towards the Gulf Coast. Yikes. The images of the devastation in NOLA were amazing. I was in NOLA a couple years ago and it’s still sad how many empty lots and devastation remain.

Yo @Rain Cold watch out for any kind of vibration with your weatherflow setup mine has been telling me it's raining realized it was the pole vibrating in the wind. Wild
Yeah man. I've been meaning to ask you about that. I've been getting it too and wondered if a bird was on it or something. Fortunately, it's not actually measuring any rain.

Yeah birds will do it too. I have one bird that calls mine home and tap dances on it daily. I had to turn the rain notification off

I was originally skeptical about if it would warm up here this afternoon after the morning storms and cloud cover we had. Ultimately it has warmed up nicely. Currently at 90/73 with the sun out and skies rapidly clearing.

based of the SPC wording which says “A few supercells are most likely in the early initiation phase in the central OK vicinity with large hail to around 2 inches and a tornado or two possible.“ I could be right in the thick of things this evening. I hope to get some awesome pictures later.
