Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Asheville most definitely have their weirdness.

I like Carrboro. Used to go to Cat’s Cradle all the time. A lot of bands in the mid to late 90’s that hit the Top 40 charts played at Cat’s Cradle before they made it big. SonVolt, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Wilco, DMB, Hootie and The Blowfish, Edwin McCain, Cravin’ Melon, Connells, Two Skinny J’s, Waxing Poetics, Boneshakers, Far Too Jones (went to school with their drummer Scott MacConell)

Their music and culinary are good. Most people assume Carrboro/Chapel Hill as being very liberal, and they are, but the culinary doesn't reflect that at all. They have some damn good eastern BBQ, steak, lamb, duck, seafood, among other things that are very palatable.

Hey @Jimmy Hypocracy do you remember what the highest gust the upstate saw during Michael was? That’s the last time we’ve had TS Warnings
I couldn’t say for sure. I remember it being windy but none of the forecasted wind maps were even close to the actual observations.

Schools around here are going to have classes online tomorrow instead of closing because of the weather from Zeta. I guess we'll see snow days become a thing of the past, too. That sucks.

I can’t remember a tropical remnant living up to the hype there the last 5 years or so

We never closed for a fresh autumn breeze when I was a kid. What's next, closing for a front advisory?

Advisory? Oh yeah they so seldom come through now that when we do get a legit front it will need an advisory, I get it.

Wouldn't you think with the western atlantic ridge that's been prevalent the past several winters that the mid south would score some hits of wintry weather, or experience a plunging dip in the jet stream.

WCPSS seemed to get a lot "softer" with closing schools for non-snow reasons after I graduated three years ago. I think they closed during Dorian which was nothing here.

We've canceled for some pretty hilarious reasons in the past, and its all liability. i.e. one time had a 30% chance of ZR one morning, nothing came of it, but we canceled school. Also got a 2hr delay one time because it was like 15 degrees

Maybe it's just for this year, or whenever we have a normal school year again. Hopefully not permanently. Otherwise, in many ways, especially for school kids and staff, winter no longer has any meaning. #sad

Yeah, getting out of school was always a big reason kids wanted snow.

I did like “Down on Me”. That’s a little more metal than played at Cats Cradle normally. Jackyl-Pride of Atlanta.
Jackyl was from like Walhalla SC , I thought! But ‘ Lumberjack’ is great!

Well, Panthers are going to lose to the Falcons, and Bridgewater got hurt on a hit to his head and neck. Their defense is bad. The only way they can stop a drive is to get a turnover.
