Born and raised in North Cackalacky (Carolina lol). My dad somehow was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan as a kid, I honestly have no idea how that happened and continued as a fan when they moved, so I grew up a LAD fan.
We were different, my dad was also a Miami Dolphins fan (particularly Don Shula) fan, so I grew up a Dolphins fan as well (although I transitioned to Panthers when they came to fruition). So, I actually can't stand the Braves, Cowboys or that Washington team....yep some people will accuse me of being Canadian :D :D
Interesting story. Must be strange as a Dodgers fan being surrounded by Braves fans in NC lol. Be thankful they don't have Soroka or it wouldn't be much of a series coming up with the Dodgers. If Soroka stays healthy next year you might have to turn off the tv lol.

To be fair he lives close to the VA border much closer to Nats and Orioles country than Braves ciuntry although i believe Richmond used to have a Braves minor league team so there may be some Braves fans in the northern part of NC.

I get fascinated by geography stuff. Did you know Atlanta is closer to St Louis and Columbus, OH than it is to Nags Head, NC ? Pretty fascinating. Also Rome, GA is further west than Fort Wayne, IN. Who knew that Georgia was so far west ?

Did you know it can snow at 43 degrees! ⛄

I’ll be voting in person , but my mom and sister don’t want to vote . What’s stopping me from mailing In their ballots for them? Idk I just don’t like it much .

The hurricane delta thread is a lot quieter than I thought it would be. Maybe folks are just tired of all the tropical systems this year.

Day after day it reappears. Night after night my heartbeat shows the fears, ghost appear and fade away. Come back another day. Overkill by Men At Work 1983. Land Downunder wasn't their ONLY top 40 hit.

Atlanta in 1878, October 3.

Lol. he's saying that only because that is the day before records started. Of course it didn't snow then as the high/low the next day were 78/62. However, there was a T of snow on 10/31/1993 (I saw it). On 10/28/1910, there also was a T of snow or sleet. Amazingly, that followed the latest known snow there, the 1.5" of 4/25/1910! So, only 6 months from last snow to first snow that year!

There was a T of IP or SN in Oct of 1913. I think it was on 10/20/1913, which would be the earliest on record!

Oct of 1926 had a trace of IP or SN, which I think was on 10/26/1926.

Just arrived in Cookville, TN. (8:27ct) 5hrs 30 min. Half way to my family’s VERY rural St. Louis area. I used to drive straight through. This is the way to go for sure. Impressed with my $59 room before leaving out early. A couple/3 Miller Lites before lights out. I’m obviously gonna miss out out of all the rain this week in the Triad of NC. That’s alright. FAMILY !! Already missing my two female dog rescues.. Bella and Bae.

Driving back next Friday.

I made 2 trips back and forth to Dubuque to Greenville, before finally moving the 3rd time! Drove all 3 times, about 13 hours one way! Drove straight through everytime, stopping only for gas and bathroom, ate and drank in the car and filled up about every 3-5 hours for gas! Average 35 mpg

“Driving through” sucks. All these years I’ve done the 10:45 drive no problem. I would arrive drained. I was gonna leave WS Friday morning and drive through but decided, on a whim, to head out. My mpg is only 22.5.
