Well now I’m trying to remember a storm that happened when I was 6-7 years old. @Webberweather53 you know of any events between 2008-2010 that gave the upstate 3-6” and brought fairly strong winds? (Sorry I don’t have more specifics, I was like 6 lol)

How come every time we finally get a well placed LP system, there is no cold air to be found, yet when there is cold air abound, literally every storm cuts? WHY?!

One of the very rare times when Athens got more snow than places N and W of Atl.
This article mentions thundersnow and 1-2 inch per hour rates. I think this is probably it, a storm with thundersnow is probably gonna have strong winds with it. It’s a fuzzy memory, I just remember my power flickering and my mom coming into the room and me looking outside to see the snow coming hard and diagonal in the streetlight

The snow depth in Carrollton is not accurate. I can assure you we never had a depth of 2". That was one of the most frustrating storms I've ever experienced. We had lots of thunder and snow but it had a very tough time accumulating. I've never seen so much thundersnow in my life.

This is 3rd on my list. This was a good one as well. 2009-14 was gold for my area.

Trust me, I remember it. That was the storm which brought trees down on WxSouth's (Robert) house in Shelby due to the weight of the snow. He was posting about the trees snapping in real-time on Easternwx. It was wild that night.

This is why I tell my wife If the big one was coming NASA would never tell us. It would just be a bright light, loud sound then DEAD.
I remember the March 2, 2009 storm! My 10 year old self was shocked that we could have accumulating snow in March. I've seen snow in March a few times since then but nothing as much as that one.
I'm going to go back to just reading NWS discussions, looking at PSU ewall, and watching the Intellicast radar.
