Maybe with all that snow to our northeast now, any cold air feeds from that area should be colder. Many of us missed this last event by a degree or two.

Fun fact: Tallahassee, FL’s record low temperature of -2F (latitude 30.4N) is lower than Tromso, Norway’s record low of -1F (latitude 69.4N).

I have the same forecast. I seem to remember them forecasting snow a week before Christmas a few years back and of course we didn't see anything. Hoping to at least see some flakes.

I know I’m up here in Montana but man oh man I wish I can see those snow totals parts of the north east got....I mean 40 inches of snow is sick hell if I get anything close to those types of totals I’ll call it a winter and wouldn’t beg for snow for the next 2 years lol

I definitely can agree especially while I been staying in Alabama all 30 years of my life before I moved up here... I think the most I’ve seen all my life at most was 4 inches total I mean I can’t even compare that to what them folks got up there smh ?

I matched my 4 inch total(at least since at least the mid 90s, 93 is a bit of a question mark though I do remember huge drifts) from Alabama the first winter I was here
then it stopped snowing and refuses to anymore lol
saw 2-3 inches in NYC in 2018 and up by the Oklahoma border last winter but otherwise *shrugs*

The other side effect of +EAMT in week 3 is it's gonna place additional pressure on the polar vortex by triggering negative height anomalies over Siberia & the Bering Sea.
