I was a met major originally, then I realized I wasn’t as good at the physics/chemistry part as I thought and I had meh grades, which is no good in a field with job prospects as tenuous as meteorology (plus, generally speaking, the pay is not very good). So I got out and switched to economics, something I am much more naturally gifted at, and the rest is history...it all worked out very well! Almost certainly better than if I’d have muddled through and stuck it out in meteorology.
You obviously want to do something you don’t hate for your career, but I’d argue it doesn’t have to be your first love, either. Pay attention to pay and job prospects, and student loans are no joke; I’d personally avoid them as much as you can.
