Dewpoint Dan snow rules:
1. The best window for snow in the south is early December
2. It cannot snow south of I-20 after Valentine's Day
3. If it snows at a location at the same latitude as you, it is supposed to snow where you are too
4. 1-3 inch events suck
5. Sun angle is the most important part of determining whether snowfall will stick
Those rules are so dumb, it makes me want to stick my head in lime juice eyes wide open

I’ve always thought getting mad about others getting more snow and/or getting less than normal snow, something which is out of anyone’s control and is actually predestined to happen regardless of model teases, is silly.

Disappointment is one thing. Actually getting mad is another.

If someone is getting angry or depressed over not getting snow, its time to move north. A few posters on this board have already done that.

Yeah but some of the posters who are angry are too young to do it , don’t have the means to do it , or value other things that keep them here . My advice is to learn how to enjoy even weather you dislike . I do that ! When it’s cold and rainy I still do my best to enjoy my time . I went hiking today and it was chilly for example, that and the trails were flooded by the little fishing creek ! I was soaked wet! Many bridges were out on the trails !

Another Dewwy Dan rule :

1. You must ask the same question multiple times in different forms despite being answered .

Ex. “ How is it possible that Atlanta did not see snow in x amount of years “ ... 2 weeks later “ how is it possible that it snowed in del rio but not Jacksonville “.... 2 weeks later “ how is it possible nyc gets more snow than Omaha “

Yea I took the dog out for an extended walk (3 miles or so) and the wind made it especially brisk, but the full sun made it bearable. What surprised me though was how much standing water was everywhere, and in places I don't usually see it. If this was summer, the mosquitos would multiply enough to take over everything.

I wish this was an actual rule. ❄

I honestly think a lot of people have forgotten what a snowstorm pattern looks like for the SE. Not talking about a modeled 5+ day pattern.
I was actually questioning what a snowflake looked like earlier this year. Lmao

If it was we would never see snow . It don’t really snow in Malta , Buenos Aires , Sydney , Los Angeles , Las Vegas , Auckland , and other subtropical cities at the same latitude as us! We are unusually cold for the latitude , not as much as east Asia however . However , we see the strongest winter deviations from normal and are the most capable of extreme cold at our latitude . -9 is crazy record low at our latitude . Most places at this latitude and elevation see record lows in the 25-30 range ! Think about that , a hard freeze would be an all time record low lol.

No No No. You've got it backwards. See this was inspired from my childhood when I watched TWC, and I'd see the 5 day forecast and a storm coming across the country, and it would show snow for Oklahoma at my latitude. And then northern Arkansas, and then TN.....and then.....RAIN here. Grrrr.

See. If it snows in OK, it should snow in all those places you mentioned too if they are on the same latitude. (including Los Angeles) I don't care what argument you put forth, you are arguing against that kid watching TWC years back. He is not interested in science, he is interested in fairness. ;)

We must dive in deep and find the reasons behind such mystical events.

I remember they had their weekly planner at 20:00 and 50:00 past the hour.. and I do remember there were clown maps back in the '90s but back then the weather channel showed them and talked about it.
