I don't see what the big deal is. This winter doesn't count anyway. It's like punching a hole in your dry-wall because your team lost when they're ineligible for playoffs/post-season. ?

If the upcoming pattern persists through the winter, I think the Carolina's and east TN will do well. The trough may be too far east for west and middle TN. I look for areas east of the Apps to score a major storm with CAD this winter.

That's definitely a cold air damming look, too bad there isn't gonna be a ton of cold air to work w/ after we've left Canada in the frying pan too long

I mean that's a good looking pattern on the 12z control but absolutely god awful temperature anomalies. Raging Pacific jet for week after week and turning Canada to the furnace comes back to bite us here
I'm glad I jumped back in October. Soon me and @smast16 will have plenty of company down here.
