I'd almost be willing to bet we get colder on the models first with a more classic western ridge that eventually retrogrades into a warm pattern

Texas. Probably too zonal and pacific dominated. Could be the warm members are just dominating the mean where cold members are more average so the mean is skewed warm. Have to look at the box and whiskers later

What's the date of that happening?

On March 3 we will take the 2nd place for longest streak. On June 6 we will surpass the longest streak and proceed to blow the record out of the water.
Interestingly, our streak of days without 0.1" is longer than the 7th longest streak without 1". We can't even get a tenth of what we used to.
