January 2019 and 2020 were both awful, but before that, January 2014-2018 was fairly productive in NC (though eastern NC didn't do well in 2016 or 2017). January 2019 was frustrating watching the cold and snow get locked up in the midwest, January 2020 just sucked everywhere

Not that much of drop at ATL. And don’t forget 2/25/1914, which gave major wintry all the way down here and have middle GA 2nf heaviest snow in record! The late February 1914 storm was arguably one of the all time greats in parts of east-central SC until the Feb 1973 storm came along. 1913-14...southernwx.com

Yep. We're finally going to have a winter with a -NAO, and never have cold air to back it up. The one year we finally get a -NAO, old man winter is basically in a coma.
