I lived in Indiana for 7 years; snow there is great; accents and food and just about every damn thing else there sux; rather be down here with folks ... yes, "folks" ...

Had a small plane crash 13 miles from my house in Franklin County. Landed in a pond. Listening to the scanner feed and they just confirmed one person is dead.

@Webberweather53 great game between Canes / Stl blues. Like you said, Canes need the win more than the Blues to make the playoffs. Canes are my 2nd fav so I’m not totally heartbroken. I believe you play hockey? What made you a third team Blues hockey fan? Btw... My brother and two kids traveled 2 hours from the triad for tonight’s game. :)
Edit- His wifey stayed home with their special needs son. :)

Summers up here are definitely nicer than in the south. Honestly, I find the winters here a little too cold. And yeah I miss the southern accents for sure, although as you get down to Cincinnati you hear some southern accents mixed in.

Models giving NC love to end the winter just the same way it did to begin the winter... 2018-2019 legit winter storms for some states in the south
Alabama-0
Mississippi-0
Georgia-0
Louisiana-0
Sobering numbers that should make all of us angry, let out a good scream if you live from LA to SC.

Then have a drink afterwards.

WRAL has a new weekend morning “meteorologist”: https://www.wral.com/rs/bio/18200965/

“Peta is also a graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication-News, Minor in Geography and Certificate in Meteorology and Climatology.”

So much for WRAL insisting that their weather team be actual meteorologists with meteorology undergrad/grad degrees instead of comminications degree weather readers. Wasn’t the entire movement to get scientists in front of the camera spearheaded by Greg Fishel? They’re not wasting time removing all traces of his impact.

Kind of like it was for the 30” analfrontal AL and MS snow

At KATL, all strong/superstrong El Ninos but 2015-6 were colder than 2018-9 in DJF, and ALL had more wintry precip. there.

I'm sorry but I'm not particularly interested in what's likely to be more just pure cold and wet days without wintry if it does become a strong Nino, so I pass entirely on a Nino if it becomes strong. Moderate, I'll take, but I'll be pretty darn disappointed if it becomes strong. Maybe if I was not in the area affected by the CAD dome, I would not be as "meh" on it, but lately in the last two winters I've kinda had seasonal SAD from the CAD dreary days (you can also argue that not only are we revising history on Ninos being poor for us, but we wouldn't be as irritated about those CAD dreary days if we were actually getting wintry weather though).

(feel free to save this comment lulz, I'll eat up on crow if we do see a strong Nino and a legitimate Miller A winter storm)

My goodness. The march thread is dominated by this possible flurry event.

Still a trace ??‍♂️ Something the rest of the SE has had no luck with lol, thas tufff, but y’all are extremely due for something, y’all should get something next year but we have a El Niño likely coming up so we’ll see....

Enjoyed one of the most exciting basketball games in a long time today, nope wasn't UNC, State or a major school but it was at Campbell University. Watched them become Big South Reg season champs for 1st time in school history with 64-62 win over Radford. Gore Arena only holds 3000, standing room only and was rocking! It was a blast and now they get to host the Big South Tourney....big deal for little town of Buies Creek, NC
